Perched between branches and shadows,
We watch, we scheme,
Fighting for a kingdom forgotten and forlorn.

Until we rip her away with our claws,
Our prisoner, our pawn, our plaything.

She’s innocent and pure,
Fragile and helpless…
…but oh so guilty by blood.

She calls us beasts,
Wicked and evil,
Vicious and cruel.

We are all that and worse.

One of us offers her shelter beneath his wings,
Whispering promises of pleasure,
Seeking redemption.

The other longs to shatter her into a million pieces,
Whispering promises of pain,
Seeking revenge.

Caught between our feathers,
She endures our deranged desires,
Our secrets, our lies,
Our twisted plans.

Will she surrender to our darkness,
or fight for a destiny growing ever elusive?

Welcome to the Court of Ravens, little white dove.

Feathers So Vicious is a full-length dark fantasy romance novel and the first book in the Court of Ravens duet. The two-part story features two morally gray raven shifters, a young woman at the mercy of their shadows, and a HEA. This world contains dark elements, violence, and themes some may find disturbing. What this book doesn't contain is a hero—because villains do it better. And two do it better than one…

This book was soooo good! Spicey, amazing story and performance. Ughhhhh but that cliffhanger - can not WAIT for book 2!

Excellent first book!

Doesn’t disappoint. Narration is sublime. I’m an enormous fan of the dark monster romance genre…IF there is a plot. The author creates a detailed background and gives personal history of characters.

This deeply dark “romance” is a fully loaded spice extravaganza.

The book was great. The audiobook was absolutely horrible. 3 voice actors, but yet whoever the chapter is about, is the voice actor for all of that chapter.

Example: female chapter, female voice actor that also voices the male roles.

Great book, horrible audiobook

Well, this is a fantasy of featuring mean bird-men, sadistic feudal lords, and one pristine virgin with shitty parents. There is a lot of attention paid to courtly manners (yawn) and many allusions to a young virgin with darkness undergirding her blindingly good-looks and good-girl-ness. To be fair, the erotic scenes were quite steamy, but I suppose my depraved book-stack is beyond her antics with two bird-men. I must admit that the end was dramatic and satisfying and yes--it did make me want to get the next book to see how the protagonist's plot will transform.

The men who voiced the characters were great, but I could barely stand the female narrator. Maybe she was directed that way, but UGH she grated on my nerves. Even speeding up the audio to 1.5 didn't change her dramatic pauses enough. Sigh. Yes, I'm going to read the second one anyway...

Book Tok Recommend it as "Hot"--I think not...

This may be better to read. It was really hard to follow, and the voice actors weren't good in this one. I've listened to books read by them before, but this was just... bad.

I think this would be better to read.
