Publisher's summary

In the distant past, a time of magic and swordplay, there lived Harold, the mightiest lich of all, a master of arcane sciences, and a challenger of gods. After reaching the pinnacle of his power and finding it surprisingly bland, Harold waged a cataclysmic war against the gods, aiming to shatter the very system that confined him.

Then, he took a nap.

An incredibly long nap that ends with a jolt, thanks to an unwitting adventurer who trips into Harold's crypt. Blinking into the torchlight, Harold finds a world he barely recognizes. No more swords and sorcery, but a universe buzzing with cultivation, celestial sects, and far too many pretentious dialogues about the path to godhood.

Harold is no naïve cultivator. He's an ancient lich with a single ambition: to slide back into his uninterrupted eternal slumber. But the cacophony of quarreling sects and smug martial artists seems determined to keep him awake.

Undeterred, the sleep-deprived overlord is ready to confront this brave new world. After all, no aspiring deity, no grandiose sect, and certainly no self-righteous martial artist is going to rob him of his beauty sleep.

the puns

I have only one... bone to pick here... hahahahaha.

And that would be the number of terrible puns and laughing at one's own puns there are here. If you got through the dad joke I began this review with you will have an enjoyable time with this power trip fantasy. The story is solid and, while I don't normally appreciate the multiple narrator approach, it is very well done here.

Refreshingly Excellent

I didn’t originally have high hopes for this book given the authors other works don’t appear to follow a similar model and I was unfamiliar with the narrator. I was immediately impressed by the level of cheer and outright production value found in this book, it has a lot of “Character”: the scientific nihilist, the accepted failed experiment, the plucky apprentice. Definitely worth a read and while some jokes really beat you over the head and wear themselves out, others are beautifully set up and pay off to belly aching laughter.

I'll never unhear Magic Bone Daddy.......... Haha!

The guys at SBT take another great story and make it better!

The Litch in a cultivators world story goes together hilariously!

There's so much I want to say but I'm worried I'd give away. But when your MC goes "Hello, I'm Harald" and someone's response is "Oh shit" you know you've gotten into a bony situation....... bony....... teehee.....

You get the idea.... and the puns........ Justin, I love / hate your laugh when you cackle at your own puns as Harold. I hope my suffering feeds your soul.

Looking forward to the next one as well!

Great start!

A good start to this story and I can't wait for the next. The dad jokes are a bit much, and the voice actor's laugh is excessive. But the story will keep me wanting more.

I love the light hearted listening!

I have been craving good light hearted story, that I could enjoy that has enjoyable content without needless anxiety or cliche drama, and this wonderious story was a bone-ified success! it is exceptionally performed, and gripping for all the right reasons! I also love the humor of it. (it's similar enough to my own that I found it quite amusing and found myself crafting similar jokes while anticipating the next joke in the story!

Great Cast.... get it CAST!!!.....

it's like the Doctor and Ainz Ooal Gown (Overlord) fused and was cursed to subject us all to good/bad puns.

great start to the series can't wait to try the cookie Recipe!

JTJ once again Kills it .. ..get it???? KILLS IT?????
....you should never have to explain word play.

Dorrie Sacks Needs to get another lead roll she can go from cute aiming to please Limpit to a hard swearing Murder golem and still sound just as cute.

looking forward to book 2

Fun

It is good to know their are companies like this performing entire stories. I wish this one was longer. This is an interesting beginning to what I hope will be a much bigger universe.
