In the end, this book was good. I am not a huge fan of the multiple partners trope, but I loved the Hockey Gods series so I wanted to give this book a try. It’s very dark, so please read the trigger warnings. It’s a little crazy how much bad stuff happens to one character. Carter was my favorite. He is dark, but he did the very least terrible things to Sydney and he’s so caring with her. He also has loved her the longest. It’s obvious from the beginning of the book how much Carter loves Sydney. In my opinion, Oliver and Penn just can’t come back from what they did to her. I almost didn’t finish it a couple of times simply bc I wasn’t a fan of what was going on, but I the book kept me interested enough to push through and find out what happens. I’m still not a fan of the why choose trope, but this book was well written.

Loved everything but the female narrator

Yet another fantastic book by one of my favorite authors! I adored the entire cast, except the female narrator. It sounds like she's speaking with a retainer in or something. Or like when people in TV shows and cartoons get dental work done. Like talking around a marshmallow or something. I like her a lot but the random times it sounds like her mouth is full kind of urks me.

S. Massery never disappoints. This book was chefs kiss if you like dark stalker books. It had me on the edge is my seat a few times. The narrators were absolutely amazing. I only wish that this book was duet style so I could have heard more of the male characters narration. However that is just a selfish want and not to discourage anyone from listening to this amazing book.
Please be aware this is a Dark book and has content and may be triggering to some so maybe visit the authors website to make sure this book is your cup of tea.

HOLY TRIGGER WARNING NOT JUST MATURE CONTENT -audiobook issues

Love it over all. The story is good. I have issues with who ever approved the audio books though. This isn't contemporary, romance, this is dark romance. Opening credits only warn of mature subject materials not the physical book warning! I had to had to go searching for a physical copy to know what the actual book trigger warnings say. Before you are like "oh it says mature subject material" that can mean anything from spicy scenes to other content that could be labeled as romance but is fine line between romance and dark romance. Which I am okay with. Some of this caught me completely off guard when there wasn't much warning in the audio book. Now those who say just get the physical book. Most of use audiobook listeners don't have time for the physical book or bought it with our monthly credit wondering if it would be good.

This performance was so well done! Also I want to fight those girls! Just how can nobody help that girl!??? Teddy Hamilton was so good! This was full cast and everyone did so great!

Not a contemporary romance. Dark Hockey Why-Choose Romance

This book is not a contemporary romance. It is clearly a Dark Hockey Why-Choose Romance. There is stalking, almost rape, rape, self-harm, somnophilia, torture, kidnapping and more.

S. Massery is the Queen of dark hockey romance! I think if you loved her Hockey Gods series, this one was very reminiscent of those books, but make it why choose. I really enjoyed this!! I love dark romance, especially paired with a why choose romance & suspense. I have only read the first book of her Hockey Gods series, but this book makes me want to go back & reread it, plus read the rest of the series! This book is about Sydney, who at the beginning of the book is a St. James University student, rivals to Framingham Stage University. Her dad is actually the head coach for the Framingham’s hockey team, but they are estrange. After a rough encounter with rival team captain Oliver, she decides to share the Framingham’s playbook with Cater & things get progressively worse for Sydney. Although she had asked Cater to keep her name out of it, it was quickly revealed that it was her that leaked the playbook. She is then kicked out of St. James, only for her father to come to the rescue & take her to Framingham. Only now she is in enemy territory & is bullied relentlessly. Oliver & Penn (goalie for the hockey team) are on a mission to get payback for ruining their season, but they both quickly become obsessed. You also can’t count out ex boyfriend Cater. These boys are obsessed, unhinged & at times plain cruel. They all mess up severely with Syd & have to GROVEL! & who doesn’t love when they grovel?!

Great RH story

I really enjoyed this book, love the fact that she gets to know them one at a time. Only thing I dislike is that she’s not such a strong main character. All the narrators did an excellent job at narrating
