From the creator of the Millennium Wolves series comes the heart-stopping sequel to Cloak of the Vampire, the epic romantasy set in a brutal world of bloodthirsty and power-hungry vampires.

Aileen Henderson didn’t choose to die. That choice was stolen from her, brutally, at the hands—and lips—of a monster. With a singular kiss, Lord Ragnor Rayne condemned the twenty-one-year-old to an eternity she never wanted. And a future she refuses to accept.

Despite the fury now coursing through her veins, Aileen fights the pull of attraction to Ragnor, a need with a will of its own. But now, she’s determined to make her way without the vampire lord’s help.

Carving out her new existence, Aileen finds allies, even family, among the ruthless and competitive vampire leagues. But untold dangers abound, and soon, Aileen encounters new and more evil monsters.

When ancient, all-powerful gods dredge up nightmares from her past, Aileen discovers she has an important role to play in this world. And if she can learn to control her powers and her desires, she may find a way to survive both her enemies and Ragnor Rayne.

The first half of the book; having to listen to Aileen’s constant begging and just lack of woman empowerment really irked me. The last half of the book almost saved it until the very end. The ending just didn’t give it that WOW it needed for 4 ⭐️’s. I’m still going to finish the series though, I didn’t absolutely hate it. It just wasn’t as great as the first!

The first book was better :/

It just feels like the same thing over and over. I’m a little over halfway through and I just can’t. It feels like the “will they, won’t they” is more like a “do it or not, but let’s move along”. I still don’t feel like I connect with any of the characters.

Can’t make it through

I am enjoying reading and listening to this series. I like the take that this author has regarding vampires. Definitely a different approach to the story however, it's very intriguing and definitely draws the reader in and makes it so you don't want to put the book down until you know what happens next. I'm excited to read this last book in the series. I think that the author is doing a great job developing the characters and the world these characters live in. I also believe that the voice actors for the audible version are doing an amazing job bringing the characters to life!

Interesting and great book/series

I'm in love with this series. The narration is also great and brings it to life. This may be a tiny spoiler, but it bothers me there was hardly a mention of Margarita. I wanted Ragnor to know how bad she had been. And when Eileen finally told her story, why didn't she tell him about knowing Logan? This really frustrated me and the dragging out of the whole thing is making it seem disjointed. Other than that, I loved it.

Frustrated some things weren't mentioned
