Publisher's summary

Joshua Barnes-Fleetwood is the prince of Willow Fork, Texas, but not all is right with his world. He's the heir to a multimillion-dollar company, has a family he adores, and his best friend at his side. He can't figure out what is missing until Nicole takes a job at Christa's Café. The pretty waitress is a mystery he needs to solve. He's never been so attracted to a woman, and after one night in her company, he's sure she can handle his needs. Unfortunately, he's also sure she's lying to him.

Jared Grim Burch found a home with the Barnes-Fleetwood family when he desperately needed one. With support from his newfound family, Grim beat all the odds and became a veterinarian. In Willow Fork, however, there are still people who are suspicious of him and his past. When he sees Nicole, he knows she's the perfect woman for him and Josh, but he wonders if he has the right to bring her into his sometimes dangerous circle.

For Nicole Mason, Willow Fork is nothing more than a pit stop. Once she can save up the money to fix her car, she'll do what she's been doing for the last several years. Run. Framed for her husbands murder, she can never stop looking over her shoulder. There's always someone on her trail, and she can't let them bring her back to the real killer. Getting to know Josh and Grim makes her dream of the life they could have together. If only she could trust them with her secrets.

When their past catches up to them all, they'll find out that even a small town can be big trouble.

Do not read if you haven’t read all previous Texas sirens series! You’re welcome.

Loved the story and the revisit of all the families! Love kitty Bang as usual but unfortunately the two male readers were not good. They often put punctuation in the wrong places like they were reading for the first time. And many times I couldn’t tell the men from eachother. Don’t let the male voice keep you from listening to this book though. I loved it! And kitty helped when she read the male voices too. Now I have to go back and read the Texas Sirens series again until the next one in this legacy series comes out.

Loved the narration and story!

Lexi Blake is a must buy author for me. Her stories and the perfect mix of sweet, smutty, and action packed. This story was beautifully written and the three narrators really brought it to life.

Terrific story

I loved this book written by Lexi Blake and getting the next generation’s story. The audiobook was amazing and the narrators were wonderful bringing Josh, Nicole and Grim’s story to life. Kitty Bang is always terrific with her performances in the Texas Siren world, Lance Greenfield is a favorite of mine with his swoonworthy voice and I enjoyed listening to Christian Leatherman who is new to me. I’m really looking forward to more books in this series.

So fun!

I love all of Lexi’s books, looking forward to more of the next generation. I did miss Ryan West narration, Kitty is always good. But I couldn’t connect with the male narration in this book.

Fun, fun, fun

4.5 Stars ⭐️

I think one of the things that I enjoy so much about this book is that even though it is the first book in a new series, it is just the latest addition into an entire world that has already been built and built well. Now, we are up to the second generation, the kids of the characters that we have come to know and love have now become adults.

We are back in Willow Fork for this one and we are following along with the adult children of Abby, Sam and Jack (man I love those three). Honestly, I do not even remember if we have ever met Grim before, but apparently he was a childhood friend of Josh's (and now adopted brother) and the two of them want what their parents have - a woman of their own to start their family. And, as we have come to expect with how these stories usually work, our female MC Nicole is running from her past. She is deemed "perfect" by the boys and the book then proceeds as we follow their attempts to show her that she would be perfect for them - even though we just KNOW that her past is going to come bite her in the behind....

This explanation does not really do the book justice, of course. On the other hand, I think that it is the actual setting, with the cast of existing characters, that makes it so fun to be a part of. Without going into spoilers, I knew Heather wasn't who she said she was, but the fun was trying to figure out who she was by the clues that she let slip out. (and boy was I WAY off on that one....)

Then we have all of the convoluted pairings and how everyone is related - either by blood or by marriage to each other. It's almost like a fun puzzle game where we have to "fill in the blanks". If you haven't read any books in any of the other series' yet, this will not make a lick of sense, but if you have, this is another fun, quick and easy read that leaves you feeling happy when it is done.

I honestly LOVE this series and all of the ties ins - from the Taggarts, the Lawsons, the ENTIRE group in Bliss and of course the crazy folks from McKay-Taggart in Dallas. And now we have the other spin off series with the grown kids of Big Tag - that one is going to be a hoot.

So - as always, another winner. I'm not sure someone walking in cold off of the street would get all of the hidden subtext and funny dialogue, so if you haven't read any other books - stop now and go find any book by Sophie Oak (they are all tied together) or even better, start the Master's and Mercenaries Series by Lexi Blake. You will not be disappointed......

Your Welcome :)

P.S. Ms. Blake/Oak - is there any way you can publish a PDF with the family trees of everyone? I'm a huge fan and have read EVERYTHING in all of these series, but even I am getting confused with who belongs to whom......just wondering?

Great read

Another great read from Lexi Blake. Love Kitty Bang as always. However the 2 male narrators are not up to Lexi's usual male narrators. The one who narrates for Grimm sounds too old, and Josh sounds pretentious. Glad I read the ebook first
