An accidental pregnancy, small town, sports romance from Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author, Devney Perry.

Pregnant. Homeless. Broke. Not what I’d expected for my senior year in college. Neither was Rush Ramsey.

We met the day I went camping and got stranded on the side of a gravel road. I didn’t believe in white knights who freed damsels in distress. Life had taught me that if something bad could happen, it probably would. The only person who would save me was me.

But Rush Ramsey rescued me that day. He was sweet and kind and charming. He made a dark, starry night a little less lonely.

I should have realized it was too good to be true. That an incredible night of passion would come with consequences. That the bad luck rollercoaster I’d been riding for twenty-one years wasn’t ready to stop.

Because Rush Ramsey, Treasure State University’s most eligible bachelor and quarterback extraordinaire, just got me pregnant.

I absolutely adored these two. Watching Faye and Rush go from a one night stand, to future parents to falling in love was so dang sweet. Rush had me constantly swooning and I loved the way he was with Faye.

Faye looking her past in the face and knowing she would be different, do better, was the best. I really enjoyed watching her grow and learn to lean on Rush for help, not because she needed it, but because she wanted it and quite frankly deserved it. She had been through a lot in her short lifetime and seeing her finally get a happily ever after was the best. Rush occasionally needed to just hush and listen, but he really was so good for her.

The audio was so good. Vanessa Edwin and Jason Clarke were fantastic once again and I loved listening to them bring Rush and Faye to life. I can't believe I have to wait 5 months for Maverick in Merit. I am so excited.

Adored These Two

The third book in this series did not disappoint.

For Rush Ramsey, QB for the Wildcats, was just trying to escape the fight he had with his girlfriend. Faye was stranded in the woods with a flat tire and she was trying to escape the fact that her boyfriend and his best friend (that was a very affectionate girl) were spending the weekend together. She headed out to go camping but bad luck found her.

Rush fixed the tire and sent her in her way but she turned around to come back to tell him thank you. They won’t that evening watching the sunset and listening to the silence.

A month later and much drama for both of them, they find each other at the same bar. They spend that fateful night together, enjoying each other and feeling like they never have before.

Fast forward 30 days and Faye knows she is pregnant and knows that her one night with the QB has gotten her in this situation. But she doesn’t know what to do. Her past is not pretty and she is all alone in life just trying to get to graduation. Dusty, her boss and the only mother figure in her life, takes a very blunt approach to telling Rush about the pregnancy. Rush freaks out and disappears from his teammates for a day. Coach Ellis is there to help guide him through the initial shock and set a path forward for both.

Their story and struggles play out and it is a very endearing and heartwarming journey to self acceptance and letting someone in.

The way Faye remains strong and feisty in the face of the horrible upbringing ahead has is such a great story. The way that Rush’s parents accept the situation and accept Faye without judgement and with a lot of love is beautiful.

Love this story! Happy Reading friends - Peace ☮️

The Quarterback and the Waitress

Jason Clarke & Vanessa Edwin delivered excellent interpretations of Rush & Faye, dragging me into their convoluted life story.

I truly loved this listen overall, but I thought Faye made Rush work entirely too hard to earn her trust and love - get over it already! The ins and outs of their love story were interesting, the family drama limited, the friend support steadfast. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and kept having to remind myself these were college kids. The narration carried the day!

Superb Narration!
