A Serving of Murder” is a Prohibition era murder mystery where greed, illicit passions and secret perversions swirl. An Englishman arrives in Baltimore searching for a fabulously valuable painting which is sequestered somewhere in someone’s furniture. He is killed in a downtown restaurant. The killer uses a strange four-bladed knife and stabs the Englishman before he can gain the treasure he seeks. Prior to his death, he enlisted others in the endeavor, now they too are keen to find and profit from the painting’s recovery. Detective Mat Finnley is assigned the case and quickly finds he has a multitude of suspects. At the auction house where she works, MJ Bartlett becomes involved in the case as there is an antique desk with a secret compartment going up for auction in five days. Time is precious as Finnley fears MJ Bartlett’s snooping may have placed her on top of the killers list.
