Sir Walter Scott was a Scottish novelist, poet and historian, and many of his works remain classics of European and Scottish literature. This collection presents five BBC productions of some of his best works:
Waverley: Scott 's great novel of the 1745 Jacobite rebellion.
Rob Roy: A thrilling tale of adventure, heroism and love, set during the Jacobite rising of 1715.
The Heart of Midlothian: Two sisters are caught up in political revolt and a charge of infanticide in Edinburgh in 1737.
The Bride of Lammermoor: The story of a tragic love affair between young Lucy Ashton and her family's enemy Edgar Ravenswood.
Woodstock: Scott’s English Civil War novel, dealing with supernatural goings on at Woodstock Palace.
