Good to have C&C back!

I missed this series. Hope Robert can keep them coming at a steady pace. Would like to see the additional spells in the regular series

Sucked like Dave’s mom…that’s a good thing

The stories contained within this anthology were not only funny, but very well written and a returned to what made them great in the earlier volumes. While there was some toilet humor, it was toned down and jokes about Dave’s mom were plentiful and rarely repeated from story to story.

Probably the best written stories to date and as always the narration was superb. Shoutout to Sleep!

Robert Beven Strikes Gold

I love his D6 short story series, almost more then the main book series. They never disappoint! Each one light hearted and full of non stop humor! If you haven't bought this book yet, do it now! If your new to the series, what are you doing reading this? Go get Critical Failures 1 and start reading!!

Bevan continues to deliver!

Always a laugh out loud experience. I think Fools Gold was the best short so far!

Cooper Stood Out..

All the mom jokes were awesome, but a bit on the nose. Just like Dave's mom.

Another amazingly hilarious sick series of adventures!

Bevan’s twistedly sick writing and Sleep’s character performances are a most delicious listening pleasure! These mini adventures are as good (or better!) than the main storylines running in the main series. Thank you to all involved for a great listen!

Critical Hit - 54 Damage

Well it's been a while between sojourns the boys are back, this time with a few new spells and some new conundrums to resolve.
The standard and expected heavy drinking, farting, pooping, puking and taboo poking are still understandably present along with the fail forward shenanigans you would expect in a caverns and creature adventure starring the core retinue of characters from the original adventure that are the primary antagonists of the D6 anthology series, however this time round there a sparkle and a sense of real momentum pushing through the 6 stories .
For those unaware Robert Beven has been doing a series of YouTube videos under Caverns & Creatures a bunch of which were an exploration of Dungeons and Dragons spells and interesting ways to use them and that endeavor has very much paid off in terms of their application in the new stories adding an extra level of fun and surprises.
The stories themselves which I shall not spoil here are nicely varied and rather than specifically or obviously focusing down on any one character to present a focused vignette as they frequently did in the past, these stories are very much all about the whole party and how they interact with each other and deal with the challenges they find themselves confronting.
This set of tales are collectively the most like actual quests, dubious characters may find themselves going on in a fantasy roleplaying game and the writing is also the best its been in years.
Descriptions, dialogue and plotting are all on point and all combine to make what is genuinely some of the most entertaining stories I have heard in a while, they were all inventive, well paced and engaging , these are probably the finest written stories in the series and that includes the full novels.
The jokes and jibes liberally shotgunned into the tales mostly landed and there was just enough pushing of the taste envelope to make you double check you just heard that right.
I have no idea if the author was enjoying himself in reality when he wrote these but here they appear to have the sense of a writer trying out new stuff and playing with his characters in a way that feels fresh, controlled with now years of honed expertise.
The narrator is a comforting standard for this whole series, Johnathan sleep typically and superbly Juggles the vocal challenges of narrating the action with a sincere neutral tone thus adding a sturdy backbone to the ludicrous situations and the verbose and varied collection of characters along the odd curve ball that Robert Bevan throws his way, such as in the last story of the anthology.
All together the combination of excellent writing from Richard Bevan and consistent well acted narration from Johnathan Sleep create what is an experience well worth the credit or the cash to go on this new set of adventures.
With 54 collected short Stories over 9 volumes and 9 Novels in the fact that this series can still shine so brightly when polished is a remarkable feat, for what it counts I personally am hopeful and looking forward to the next soonish to be released entry in the main series with a renewed sense of hope and enthusiasm thanks to this collection and if you are on the fence as to whether to keep going it is a highly recommended that you pick this up and stick with it.

Love these insane books

More d jokes, more better. People need to buy more of Bevens' books so can devote more time to writing.
