Entertaining

Recommend reading his book. Good plot. No big twists but it keeps you reading due to a good story line. Enjoyed the narration.

I loved it and its held my attention and kept me intrigued. Interesting for sure.

Where is this even going?

I give up with two hours left. The story isn’t awful, and it has some good bones, but it just doesn’t really go anywhere. I was thinking this was going to be a similar set up to “The Shining” where a snowstorm sort of isolates our main character in this big creepy mansion, but people continually come and go throughout the story.

The story keeps alluding to their being some sort of mystery, but I kind of just got to the point where I really didn’t care what it was anymore. It wasn’t really spooky enough to be horror. I guess this could be a thriller? There really wasn’t anything scary going on. The owner of the lodge just seemed like an overbearing boss more than anything. I found myself getting aggravated more than anything.

I think the author was trying to set her up as this mysterious figure, but I just found her annoying. There weren’t really any stakes. Just an annoying overbearing boss with a hint of crazy. Maybe there was some big reveal at the end, but I just couldn’t go any further.
