Twisted Games is the fourth book in the Syndicate Academy Series. This book can be listened to as a standalone even though the series interweaves and familiar characters crop up in each. It has a happily ever after ending. This is a dark enemies to lovers romance story and has dark themes, hot scenes, violence, content some listeners may find upsetting, and bad language. The spice was spicing

Man oh man this book got me all hot and bothered the narration was amazing! The MMC is a beast and that dirty mouth he has on him was just 🥵. Had a good plot to it as well I will definitely be reading / listening to this series as it goes!

What a disappointment 😡

I had such high hopes for this book. I love a good taboo romance involving teacher/student. To say that this was a disappointment would be an understatement. First of all, it was only taboo in logistics. Because it is so common for faculty to be with students, there wasn’t really anything to the main characters getting together. Like the FMC chose to keep it a secret from her friends only because she didn’t want them to know she had given into him. Not because it was frowned upon.

The story dragged relentlessly. It was so repetitive. Every chapter was same. The BBS was horrible. There was not a single character in this book that I liked.

This book was all spice with no plot. That is something that I can appreciate if you’re going to just be honest about your intention. When you are not, you get a 400 page book with no character development, no plot, and chapter after chapter of the same exact thing.

I listened to this on audiobook. I liked the male narrator. The female narrator just sounded aggressive, all of the time. Which matched the scenes when she was trying to come off strong to the MMC. Granted she wasn’t. She continued to give into him all the time even before he started blackmailing her. But the tone never changed, no matter what the scene was, which I just found to be weird. Had I not bought the audiobook, I would have absolutely DNF’d this book. It is very clear that I was not the target audience here.
