Max and the others did what most believed was impossible: they defeated the final tower floor. With that task complete, they face a new challenge.

Every member of the party: Max, Tanila, Cordellia, Fowl, Batrire, Sog & Rakonath; is now a god. But the new title doesn't come with the unlimited power they expected their world's creators held.

Their new task set before them: create a world and help it thrive, growing stronger as it expands. It sounds simple, until the truth is revealed. Danger awaits them after a brief period of protection. Other gods will seek to defeat them and take their power.

Can Max and Bob overcome this new struggle?

And don’t forget, their daughter's birth is soon.

Being a baker would have been far easier than what comes next.

I didn’t care for the new performer. His English accent isn’t very clear and it was very difficult to distinguish between characters.

Disappointed

I thought the new narrator did a fine job. It was a natural break point in the story for it too.

New narrator is plenty fine

I saw people get really up in arms about the new narrator.
but I actually like most of their voices. I think it's fine to use a new narrator for a new arc in the story
I appreciate the lack of the shrill corrdillia voice
the dwarfs still sound fine
max sounds fine
I will say the dragons aren't great at first. like the narrator wasn't sure how he was gonna make them sound.
but it got better and more refined as the book went on

looking forward to the next one

honestly the new voice ain't bad

The new narrator was just to distracting. Idk if I’ll ever get Bob’s new voice out of my head smh.

I tried

The narrator swap was a little jarring at first but the new narrator has places where he’s better than the original.

The writing has gotten lazy in the last two books. The phrases “you and I both know” and “we both know” are used over and over and over. It’s unnecessarily repetitive and lazy.

The first nine books built up the party for a confrontation with other black skills and gods. The tenth book completely changes the dynamic of the story. Suddenly it’s all blueberry muffins and angst. I’m far enough into the tenth book that I will try to finish it but it’s a struggle.

Lazy and boring
