Publisher's summary

Books one through three in the hit The Path of Ascension series are now available in this special audio bundle. It also includes book 3.5, an exclusive novella set between books three and four in the series.

Orphaned by monsters, Matt must power-up to save others from the same fate.

Matt plans to delve the rifts responsible for the monsters that destroyed his city and murdered his parents. But his dreams are crushed when his Tier One Talent is rated as detrimental, and no guild or group will take him.

Working at a nearby inn, he meets a mysterious and powerful couple who give him a chance to join the Path of Ascension, an empire-wide race to ascend the Tiers and become living legends.

With their recommendation and a stolen Skill, Matt begins his journey to the peak of power. Maybe then, he can get vengeance he seeks....

About the series: This is a mix between LitRPG and xianxia. It's like a car that looks like a LitRPG with dungeons and skills, but the interior and engine are all xianxia. It features a magic system and progression system that are logically and internally consistent, as well as realistic fight scenes and a rational MC.

A power leveling fantasy worth the grind.

The authors “world/universe” building is great without being boring. There were a few charts in the first book that aren’t fun to listen instead of see visually but other then that the books are really addictive and the ride is a blast. I genuinely love the chars I should and hate the ones I should as well lol.

Narrator Doesn't Take The TIme To Double Check

Story is decent, though not fantastic. Not a bad attempt at a cultivation style story overall. The protagonist is decent, though nothing to write home about. The pacing feels good considering the length of time it spans.

But, the Narrator doesn't take the time to double check the longer words before he reads them. Either that, or there are a noticeable number of typos in the script. Because every once in a while the narrator will very obviously misread what the word is supposed to be. Saying Moments instead of Movements, as an example. The Narrator will do such mis-pronouncements about every 2 or 3 hours, which on an audio book collection of this length makes it quite noticeable.

All things considered, it's worth the credit if only because it's so long.

Interesting progression system

The progression system was good. The rate of advancement was a bit slow, but looks to be set up for multiple books.

Good series.

I like how something that was supposed to be bad when looked in the right light turned out to be really good especially when drive was put behind it.

A new drinking game

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to book 4. I think they could do with less mention of phantom cracked armor (PCA) though. I seriously think that if you and a group of adults were listening to this, the mention of PCA would get someone pretty drunk.

Love the story narration gets better

Love the story and character developments. Narration in the first book feels like he’s always yelling in your ear but by the third book it gets better.
