A century into the war, the Ascenders aren't the only ones who are tired. Fighting three against two the Empire, even with all of its advantages, can only fight to a slow and bloody retreat as more of its border worlds are occupied.

As Ascenders Matt, Liz, and Aster are working overtime to stem the tide, but even with their Ascender peers' Light and Shadow, they are barely keeping up.

As their enemies finally make their own decisive move, that may no longer be the case.

Don't miss Book 11 of this action-packed fantasy adventure that blends everything you love about LitRPG with Xianxia.

About the series: This is a mix between LitRPG and Xianxia. It's like a car that looks like a LitRPG with dungeons and skills, but the interior and engine are all Xianxia. It features a magic system and progression system that are logically and internally consistent, as well as realistic fight scenes and a rational MC.

The writing's great character is great, but seriously making us sit through 29 hours of a war no one wants. people enjoy this book for dungeon, delving and character progression.
honestly, 10.5 was much more worth the money than this. I get it. it makes sense to explain the hardships in the trials, but for the love of God, no one wanted that war in that much detail. 60% of it was mental back and forth ethical decisions or panic and worry.
love your books and I'm always waiting for the next one. if you're going to make it sit through that again, at least give us a fun intermission.
In the first 27 hours, they're only three points of interest, and all the rest came in the ending.

I wanted to give you zero Stars.

...the fights have gotten to ridiculous, over the top, shonen anime levels of fighting. And when every fight is like that it just becomes blah after the first couple. "ha! you can't beat my reality breaking ability!" "oh yeah? well, my ability breaks reality breaking abilities!" "ahhhh, but I planned for this one moment over 300 hundred years ago. that's why I have another ability that I have honed for the express purpose of breaking your ability that breaks my reality breaking ability!" it's like listening to kids running around, playing cops and robbers, and arguing about who shot who first.

I like the characters but...

Great action sequences, good character progression, and moderate humor. Very light on main character development, but the main plot element is finally resolved! Overall a good installment in the series

Finally some conclusion!

I won't spoil anything but needless to say this book is all about the war. The last book shows the ascenders getting their feet wet and this one dumps them in a shark infested pool dangling over a lava flow. Really looking forward to the next entry!
