About this listen

Penny:

My biological clock just exploded. Eighteen months. That's how long I have to make a baby happen before it becomes one more broken dream. Fate has a sick sense of humor, though. Its name is Hayden Shaw. Yes, the Hayden Shaw. Billionaire developer, scandalously gorgeous, his hard-headed ego only eclipsed by his enormous...reputation. He needs a bride to fool the world. I need a baby. It's simple business. Strictly professional.

Hayden:

My new wife is completely insane. The spitfire who just agreed to play pretend thinks we're doing this baby thing in a lab, without ending up between the sheets. Too bad I see right through it whenever she says her favorite line. Strictly professional? Please. Too bad I taste how bad she wants it when we're giving the press something to talk about, lips tangled together like there's no tomorrow. She's also my last chance at stopping a scheme to steal the family fortune, turning my riches to rags. But I'm Hayden Shaw. I'm in control. I don't back down. Ms. Naughty and Nice will never, ever know how bad I'm twisted up in our chase. Contains mature themes.

Baby Fever Bride

First, I have to say I enjoyed this story. The narrators did a wonderful job. There were some conflicting things in this story, there was so much bad and forth, I was not sure who or what to root for. That being said, I was entertaining.

Hot sexy sweet......Loved!!

Great book read in one setting......only thing i did not care for was it could have been a shorter story......any other time I like the long storylines.....chapter 7 or 8 is when it really takes off.....

Entertaining audio fluff...

I know Nicole Snow has a niche for that kind of romance that’s needy, insta, silly and over the top.

While the story had some ridiculous plot points, the narration by Shirl Rae and Christopher Slye kept me in it. It was easy flowing and I grew to like the characters. Intentional baby is one of my guilty pleasure tropes, so I had a little bias towards it.

I just have to be honest and say that Nicole’s writing just might not be my thing. I’m glad I did the audio, because I’m not sure I could finish it as a book.

Ok

So I liked the story a ton. However, something just seemed cheesy about it. It could have been the dialogue itself, which sometimes seemed immaturely written, or it could have been the narrator at the time (which I liked overall). I’m not sure of the cause of that issue.

Otherwise it was a good story and good narration for the most part.

I really wanted to like this book *spoilers*

The narration was fine, unfortunately that is as good as it gets. The story had potential, but then it would take these weird and crude turns. What was the author thinking??? Penny makes the decision to be his fake bride then by the time they get married she is mad at him for agreeing to it. She accuses him of coming to her with the ideas on a couple of occasions. Then there's the mother, who is beyond foul mouthed and nasty. Then for some reason, the sister is all of a sudden jealous of Penny, although they never say why. when the sister is married with a child and Penny admits to being envious of her. She misjudges him for flirting at a party and apologizes,, but she doesn't learn from it. Then for the climactic part of the story, the ex makes a claim and Penny believes it and runs, even though the day before, she says she loves him and all that. I hate repetitive monologs with no growth and Penny seems to digress from beginning to end. Like the determined heroine in the beginning chapters and then defeated and dumb at the end. Will not be reading another Nicole Snow story.

Predictable with weak characters

The story was not very original but I still enjoyed it. However, I do agree with the other reviewers that Penny quit on him way too fast and had no back bone of her own! He was honest with her from the beginning about not getting emotionally involved so for her not to even give him the benefit of doubt is a very weak character (for a lead)! I’d she had told him she will go back to the original contract conditions but will stick by him in public I would have respected her! Now, when the going gets tough….., not a very likable character.

Irritating.

Characters made me mad. She didn’t even try, he can do better. He should’ve moved on and let her live with regret.

Penny was a brat!

I need to vent! Penny is the one that cane up with marriage idea. Then acts like she can’t decide if she wants to, then is all no sex while going all bitch mode! Now she’s abandoning him when his crazy liar ex of his starts an obvious lie to get her to leave so he will lose his inheritance! She knows leaving him will cost him everything and she’s playing some victim. Ugh I’m so mad. And why go to Her sisters place unless she likes being the victim knowing her sister will just make her feel worst! I hate her and her whole family! Reading that letter she wrote just pissed me off more! She’s really going to do this to him! Cause him his inheritance while getting her baby. Because come on we all know she’s pregnant! Ok still listening. The only way to redeem this is if she goes to him and apologizes!

Finally got to the end. The mom turned out ok, but still pissed he had to chase her and prove himself!

I spent a credit on this?!!😩

I usually love listening to Nicole Snow’s books but this one..Naw! I didn’t laugh once just rolled my eyes till I had a headache.
First of all the chapters seemed as though they got off subject from the previous chapter I kept thinking I missed something with the way things were happening.
Second..the bratty chi’s c who called herself laying down the rules of the arrangement got in her feelings way too fast and too much. Reading social media after knowing how that woman was and leaving like that. Pitiful! Another listener said she never apologized for believing the bs and leaving. That’s because in every rom-com the men are never written to hold the women countable for their actions. I’m a full fledged woman and I find that a bit pathetic.
I really was disappointed with this one Nicole is better than this.
