Publisher's summary
"As I sleep, my mind will erase everything I did today. I will wake up tomorrow as I did this morning. Thinking I'm still a child. Thinking I have a whole lifetime of choice ahead of me...."
Memories define us.
So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep?
Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love - all forgotten overnight.
And the one person you trust may be telling you only half the story.
Welcome to Christine's life.

Story
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

Story
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Now reduced to a schoolyard chant, the Hope family murders shocked the Maine coast one bloody night in 1929. While most people assume seventeen-year-old Lenora was responsible, the police were never able to prove it. Other than her denial after the killings, she has never spoken publicly about that night, nor has she set foot outside Hope’s End, the cliffside mansion where the massacre occurred. It’s now 1983, and home-health aide Kit McDeere arrives at a decaying Hope’s End to care for Lenora after her previous nurse fled in the middle of the night.

Amber wakes up in a hospital. She can't move. She can't speak. She can't open her eyes. She can hear everyone around her, but they have no idea. Amber doesn't remember what happened, but she has a suspicion her husband had something to do with it. Alternating between her paralyzed present, the week before her accident, and a series of childhood diaries from 20 years ago, this brilliant psychological thriller asks: Is something really a lie if you believe it's the truth?

With little evidence and few leads for the police to chase, the case quickly went cold. However, Isabelle cannot rest until Mason is returned to her—literally. Except for the occasional catnap or small blackout where she loses track of time, she hasn’t slept in a year. Story
Cass is having a hard time since the night she saw the car in the woods, on the winding rural road, in the middle of a downpour, with the woman sitting inside - the woman who was killed. She's been trying to put the crime out of her mind; what could she have done, really? It's a dangerous road to be on in the middle of a storm. Her husband would be furious if he knew she'd broken her promise not to take that shortcut home. And she probably would only have been hurt herself if she'd stopped.

Rose Grahame had everything Alex D’Arcy dreams of. A handsome husband, a stunning home and a baby boy with twinkling blue eyes and a smile that would brighten the darkest of days. It’s a stark contrast to Alex’s life - her dead-end job, her borderline addiction to drink and pills, her failed engagement and her cluttered flat. But the women’s lives are about to collide - and nothing will ever be the same again.

When Daphne Marist and her infant daughter, Chloe, pull up the gravel drive to the home of Daphne's new employer, it feels like they've entered a whole new world. Tucked in the Catskills, the stone mansion looks like something out of a fairy tale, its lush landscaping hiding the view of the mental asylum just beyond its border. A little repetitive at first, but worth it!
I enjoyed this book without a doubt. I definitely didn't expect the twists, though I knew something was wrong...
The beginning was a bit frustrating because a certain fact was made clear the first time. The need to keep repeating certain realities was a turn off... Eventually the plot picked up and it was well worth pushing through.
Definitely creepy and scary to think about. Solid read.

Worth Reading
What did you like best about Before I Go to Sleep? What did you like least?
Engaging story, beautiful writing, interesting premise, and 3D main character all stapled to a standard thriller formula with a happily every after ending tacked on the end.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
More exploration of memory and more character development. There was lots, but I would have liked even more.
Which character – as performed by Orlagh Cassidy – was your favorite?
Main character was interesting and well done. Voice performance was excellent.
Do you think Before I Go to Sleep needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Story and underlying premise were completely resolved. No new ground to explore.

Good Story but Slow
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Nothing about the book, but if I had to listen to it again I would probably listen to an abridged version. It took too long to get to the meat of the story.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Much like the movie Groundhogs day, but serious.
What about Orlagh Cassidy’s performance did you like?
She did an overall good job with the character voices. You could distinctly tell who was who.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Probably

The terrifying version of 50 first dates!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This book was great from the start. At first, the "morning" routine becomes a little monotonous but that is quickly over shadowed by the drama that ensues.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Before I Go to Sleep?
The considerable twists and turns keep you wanting more.
What about Orlagh Cassidy’s performance did you like?
The performance was amazing! Never got confused about who was who or who was speaking. Great performance
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely! Though, I couldn't. I was sad when it ended

Thoroughly Enjoyed...
Felt long winded at times.. But the story kept my interest and provoked great thought on how the plot would conclude...
Would definitely recommend! Great narration also. :)

Great book. It was a bit tedious at the beginning but towards the end it really picked up pace and I couldn't put it down. Definitely recommend it.
