About this listen

Best-selling author Tananarive Due's novels about a colony of immortals have won widespread acclaim, including an American Book Award for The Living Blood. The story continues in Blood Colony.

Said to cure almost any illness, the new street drug Glow has attained almost mythical status in America. The key ingredient in Glow is the Living Blood, which courses through the veins of 17-year-old Washington state resident Fana Wolde.

Distrustful of her parents and eager to share her healing powers via an elaborate underground network, Fana sets out on her own. But what she doesn't know is she's being hunted by a mysterious and homicidal group with ties to the Vatican.

Another Awesome book

Loved the book but disliked the naration. The first two books were narrated by Peter Francis James and he did an awesome job. Patricia Floyd did a poor job, in my estimation, and that is why I gave only two stars for performance and four stars for overall. Would rather have listen to Mr. James again.

Fair

This book was fair. It wasn't as good as the first two in the series, but not terrible.

Wow

I'm still reading the series, but so far I'm blown away. Mrs Due is an artistic genius. I can't wait to get to the next book.

Great storyline

Loved it. Found myself rooting for Fana. The narrators really helped me live the moment.

Great story telling

This story was the third in this authors series. I became attached to the characters, and their behaviors were able to cause me a range of emotions-- Fear, anguish, joy, and disappointment. This author uses words masterfully to engage the reader. Sometimes there seemed to be more description than needed. But the excitement and intrigue always returned quickly. A good read for SciFi lovers.

wonderful narration

It was like listening to a play. This narrator is a real story teller. The book is just up my street; mystery, magic, paranormal mixed in to the present day.

intriguingly amazing

it's been close to ten years since i tucked my self away for a full weekend lost stuck intrigued refusing to be distributed while i got lost in the first book of this series. and after the second book I thought to my self it can't get any better . I was soon far off once again I could not move until I saw the end of this book it was like sesing an old friend or family after years of separation. I found my self yelling out loud with excitement . nothing will ever best the imagination of this author. thorough ,and intricate I almost believe it's a true story . and in disbelieve that something so detailed was made up . I'm in awe WOW!

Not as good as the first two books

As I move on to the final book in the series I hope that it's stronger than this one. Maybe I just can't get with the whole rebellious teen theme?

slow start with great pick up and an okay ending.

The beginning was very slow. I almost passed on listening to it. This story started to pick up a few chapters in and it became very very very interesting. If you like the Supernatural mixed with a religious mixed with a coming-of-age of age tale, then this is the perfect book for you. The main character's give a young adult teenage vibe but throughout the book you will realize appearance and age are two different things. This book is great to listen to on long car rides ,working late at night, anytime really. This book thrives on its story of passion, excitement and finding out who people really are and who you are. I would recommend this book.
