About this listen

Nestled between Little St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island, Salix Pointe is not a place that many people know of. As a part of the Golden Isles of Georgia, it’s never mentioned because of all the weeping willows that grow there. The surrounding town’s folk call it the Island of Death.

Elisa Hunte never let the old suspicions bother her. Yeah, there had been some strange things that had happened in the town like floating objects and people disappearing in the night, but that happened everywhere, didn’t it? Even though every night, she dreamed of the same faceless man who did things to her body that were carnal sins, she knew most of the talk about Salix Pointe was just old folklore. Elisa also knew that she was different. She seemed to sense things before they happened. That was just good ole instinct, right?

Tasmin Pettiford was a city girl through and through. She hated the country, particularly Salix Pointe. If it wasn’t for the fact that her favorite aunt had recently passed away and willed her bookstore to her, Tasmin would have never returned to the island that disturbed her on so many levels. There were stories of townspeople practicing magic regularly, others seeming to vanish without a trace, and the bookstore seemed to be the epicenter of all things weird and unusual. Tasmin couldn’t offload the property fast enough. The sooner it was sold, the sooner she'd be back in New York, away from the mosquitoes, the bookstore, and the eeriness of a town that caused many a nightmare during her childhood. Or could it really be that simple?

Not to mention, Elisa couldn’t explain why her body reacted the way it did to the town’s brooding vet, Dafari Battle. And when his even sexier brother Octavian Jerrod stepped into town, dragging otherworldly trouble along, Salix Pointe would never be the same. Elisa and Tasmin may not want to put too much stock into the folklore of Salix Pointe, but there is a reason that the universe has brought the two women together.

Surprisingly Good

This is my first time with this author, and I really liked the story. I'm not really into paranormal storylines, but this author did a great job creating the characters. I normally go for explicit romance novels, but this story kept me enthralled the entire time. The narrators did an amazing job bringing this story to life. Hopefully Ms. Vella will bring part to Audible 🤞🏾

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let this be the first book in a series!!!

I loved everything about this story. Setting, characters, intrigue, captivation.
We are left hanging at the end… as to not spoil for those who look here before reading, that’s all I’ll say.

I truly hope Noelle Vella continues with this group of fascinating characters and sends us several more books!!!

What a great book!

This book was very well written and as some of the other reviews said the details for some of the love scenes will have you crossing your legs. I will be listening to book 2.

I agree it seems like it is written for teenagers

I finished it because it appeared as the "daily deal" and the price was right.. It was a bit jumbled and loaded with sexual images and confusing witchery. I went back through my extensive library and brought up a series that I enjoyed a lot in the past.. It is more intelligent science fiction that I can read a second time and uncover what I may have missed the first time. Although the narration in "the Witches of SP" was fairly well done, the narrator of Red Rising is one of the best, Tim Gerald Reynolds.

The incubus in the story says, “Be careful what you wish for.”

The characters were very relatable - educated city girl with southern roots, small town girl who stayed to run a business, dark sexy guy with secrets, dangerous family mystery, grandma’s weird remedies and everyone knowing everyone else’s business - except you.

I loved the narrators and different personalities, and the story arc was a lot more than witches, with the promise of so much more to be learned.

I am about to read the 2nd book as there was a bit of a cliffhanger. I’m told it will be on Audible soon but I can’t wait so probably will just read it first.

I really hope it becomes a long series because with the different supernatural groups, families and historical intertwining, it’s got enormous potential!

I am a big fan of fantasy, sci-fi, mythology and historical fiction. Noelle Vella have weaved a uniquely American tale with all those elements in spades, with tumultuous romance and steamy dreams-turned-reality.
