Publisher's summary

New York Times bestselling author Kay Hooper takes us to the outer reaches of fear in Blood Ties, as the Special Crimes Unit is targeted by a monster intent on destroying both Noah Bishop and his people.

A series of grisly murders has left a trail of blood across three states, bringing the Special Crimes Unit to a small Tennessee town. There, two more brutal killings lure Noah Bishop and the SCU into what may be the ultimate trap, and lead Special Agent Hollis Templeton into a dangerous attraction - and a serial murder investigation that turns very, very personal. In her time with the SCU, Hollis has shown an uncanny ability to survive even the deadliest attacks. But what she can’t know is that this killer intends to destroy the team from within. As the body count climbs, and Bishop and his agents race to uncover the true identity of their enemy, not even their special senses can warn them just how bloody, and how terrifyingly close, the truth will be.

Great Read

I only gave 4 stars because my phone wouldn’t let me choose 5!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It kept me guessing.

Too many characters

This book had too many characters and it was very hard to keep them straight. The story was hard to follow and I was ready for it to be over.

Great book but not for a first read

This is a terrific book IF you have already read the other books in the Bishop series. I absolutely loved reading about all the characters I've met in all the other books. The number of characters would be overwhelming to someone who hasn't read the previous books. I can understand why some of the previous reviewers had a hard time with this book. It is absolutely not the book to start with but if you've been reading this series (especially since the beginning) it is awesome! You have to read the other two books in the Blood series first because the plot is complicated and ties directly to the other two books.

As for the narrator, I have no problem with her. The narration is typical Joyce Bean. If you've listened to her before, this is nothing different.

In a nutshell, fantastic book for Kay Hooper fans.

Classic Kay Hooper

This is a classic Kay Hooper story, she has been on my favorite author list for a long while. This is the first of her books I've gotten on audio. A couple of complaints I've read in previous reviews, the story can be a little hard to follow, especially when you start with this book. There are several predecessors that introduced the majority of "players" in this book, and a lot of history... definitely start with her earlier works. I think that the narrator did pretty well considering the sheer number of characters, though I think it would have been easier to "listen to" with a couple of narrators. Other than that I have nothing bad to say, I'm sure I'll listen to the story again, though I am tempted to dust off all of the paperbacks of the previous stories, and start over.

narrator was pretty bad, sorry to say.

I don't like saying negative things, but I felt like the narrator simply decided the only difference between men's voices are how deep they are. other than that, I was very pleased with the book.
