Publisher's summary

Marine First Lieutenant Jacob Brown is bored.

For months he's been sitting around on an alien planet, waiting for command to recall his scout team so they could rest and be re-outfitted. The team went through hell during their previous mission, losing both their commanding officer and their ship. For now, Jacob was acting CO of Scout Team Obsidian and their ship was a broken down old surplus combat shuttle they'd stolen from narco-smugglers on a planet called Niceen-3.

When command finally does reach out, however, it isn't to order Obsidian home for some much needed r&r. Instead, they are being reactivated and sent out into the contested space of the recently conquered Eshquarian Empire to track down a single Terran cruiser called the Eagle's Talon.

The Talon's captain has gone rogue and is operating within a fleet of ships bent on open rebellion against the quadrant's only remaining superpower. If that ship is discovered within the rebel fleet, Earth will bear the brunt of the ConFed's reprisal. Jacob's team is in a race against time to locate the missing ship and her rogue captain so that a Navy strike force can swoop in and reclaim her...or destroy her.

Love this, just as good as Omega force!

Jushua Dalzelle just seems to write these stories effortlessly, though I know that's not true! I love these military adventure stories, and Josh does a fantastic job. Omega force is great also. Paul Heitsch is just a fantastic narrator, and he brings these characters to life! I love listening to these stories over and over again! I wish Paul Allanson could learn how to do stories from Josh, it might save Expeditionary Force, witch has gone to repetitive hell. Again Josh great job, and keep up the good work!

Another good book in the series

An interesting book in the tradition of Paul Anderson's Ensign Flandry. The overall story was good. The performance was well done by the narrator.

Repetitive, Sloppy, but still enjoyable

The chase and the way it played out was repetitive and sloppy. But I still enjoyed the story, and the ending… of a son sneaking the dads spacecraft for a “joy-ride”… with a few friends of course… brilliant.
I own all of Joshua Dalzelle’s audible books, he is one of my favorite space-fo authors, this I hold him to a higher standard

I do listen to many SIFi audio books. This series is far and away the best. Great writing, story, and reader. I have actually listen to all the books several times.

Great Extension to the Omega Force Series

I am a huge fan of the Omega Force Series, and really enjoyed this extension of the universe. Fun characters, humorous conflicts and antics, action, bad guys, good guys, with a backdrop of space opera type sci fi. Good stuff. Looking forward to the next installment of both series. I really enjoy Paul Heitsch’s narration as well. Thank you Mr. Dalzelle and Mr Heitsch!
