Such a good narration!

Y’all I am not okay. I had so much anxiety reading this book that I had to continuously put it down to take breaks. The ending…okay, honestly it was not as bad as the last book, but worse than the first one. I feel like I just need to become accustomed to Lily basically causing my heart to stop with the cliffhanger endings for her books.

We get answers to a lot of questions, and I think all of the questions I had at the end of the last book were answered in this one. So there is that. And we get even more character growth in this book not to mention seeing the other, softer side to the guys.

Honestly I don’t even know what else to say. I just need more answers. I need resolution to a lot of things. And I just need these poor characters to have an HEA.

And can we talk about the audio for a minute? It was soooo good! Multi-cast and duet narration audiobooks are my favorite and that’s just what we get with this one. Heather Firth, Michael Joss, David Black, Gideon Frost, and Gregory Salinas knocked it out of the park with their narrations and I’m looking forward to listening to the last book with them as the narrators.

Book 3 - The Knights of Echoes Cove

This is book 3 in Wildhart's Knights of Echoes Cove and a great addition to the series. This should be read/ listened to in series order to get the most from this captivating and thrilling storyline. The talents that narrated this audio were AMAZING! Firth, Joss, Black, Frost and Salinas brought all these characters to life and Wildhart's multiple point of view was done beautifully as well, not a lot of repeats in the storyline which can often come with dual or multiple pov's. The drama, danger and mystery continue, and this book ends yet again with another cliffhanger so we are left wondering what on earth will happen next for Octavia and her guys. Along with all the volatility comes the steamy chemistry and there is plenty of that as well and I don't know how she does it, but Wildhart delivers enough lightness that it balances all the dark - at least for me. I mean, don't get me wrong, this is a darker romance but there is plenty of playfulness and fun to be had among friends. A wonderfully well written, smooth flowing and balanced read/listen with perfect narration that will have you chopping for more!

I had to give this one a 3.5 rating rounded up to 4 because the author replaced Blake Lockheart for Michael Joss (who BTW, he's a fantastic narrator, but Im missing the continuity of having the same voice for Linc!!)


With that being said, the storyline gets a plot twist from the first couple chapters! I had an idea who the stalker was, but it easily could've been a few others I had in mind. Bravo to Lily for keeping us on our toes!

Narration is fabulous with all characters being voiced as previous books, with the exception of the switch mentioned above . I peeked ahead and Michael Joss will voice Lincoln again in book 4.

I cant express again how much I love Indie and Vee and their friendship!! And we get a bit of her backstory with her guys!

Juicy plot, all-star cast.

Wildheart reads tend to pack ALL the drama, steamy scenes, juicy rivalries, strong female leads with supportive besties, and so much more. This one is no exception and I enjoyed getting lost in it for a few hours.

I enjoyed how, as we got some answers to long-standing mysteries, more questions also arose—and as I normally just predict everything, I really wasn’t even thinking ahead with this book, because there’s so much going on, it’s easy to just stay in the moment. It’s super rare that this happens for me—Wildhart is a fave of mine for this.

Betrayal, lies, deceit, lots of family drama.
Extortion. Scandal.


Overall:
Next time you’re in the mood to indulge in some juicy drama, I definitely recommend grabbing this series. It was fun and delicious and indulgent. 4 stars.


🎧 Audio:
This is an example of the perfect audio ‘specimen’. High sound quality all-around, no extraneous sounds, no splicing in some bits, narrators have pleasant, smooth voices and just the right amount of attitude. Full cast, and they’re all absolutely brilliant. 5 stars. 🦩

I need MORE!

This is book three of The Knights of Echoes Cove series written by Lily Wildhart. I am invested. My heart was pounding. I actually stopped the audiobook to breathe, deeply, then restarted it. My heart aches and I'm so ready to get to the HEA.

These narrators are excellent! They bring this audiobook to life with emotional performances that had it rolling like a movie in my head! It's perfection.

Caged Royal

Caged Royal is book three in The Knights of Echoes Cove series. This book jumps right in where book two left off. This will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. So much happens to V and her guys. A few secrets were answered but even more were brought to the table. Can’t wait to see where this series is headed.

Heather Firth, Michael Joss, David Black, Gideon Frost, and Gregory Salinas did a fantastic job narrating this book.

So many emotions in this one!

This series had a couple subplots going on at the same time and we get one wrapped up early on in my opinion and after finishing the series over the weekend I can understand why! I was confused to be honest why we find out who the stalker is and he is dealt with in this book and we still had another book and a half to go pretty much, but the author definitely needed that time to leave more breadcrumbs, throw more twists in there, and create an awesome story and characters.

Specifically for book 3 in this series we have to see Octavia be put through the ringer, with her stalker trying to reprogram her and “help save her” but it was pretty much torture on his part. I am glad he got what was coming to him, after he went off script and hurt our Vee and left lasting damage and PTSD. I was happy to see the guys come get her and her recovery was hard to swallow after everything she went through. Can’t blame her for needing time to recuperate but not wanting to be alone even though she wanted to be.

I was happy to get to know some of Indy’s guys more in this book, I am going to have to see if she gets her own series with how things are shaping up for her. They made me giggle so much when they would call each other out but also when the guys realized she was kidnapped also that Vee wouldn’t not be happy (to put it lightly) if they didnt try and help her out since that’s her bestie haha.

We still have a rollercoaster of emotion when it comes to the guys and Vee. They take 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. I was happy to see some resolutions happening but frustrated with other interactions/behavior. I wanted to take out some of the side characters, but some started to surprise me. Not going to spoil anything but the author is giving some smaller twists and turns and I am so here for it! The steam in this one is more subdued/less frequent just because of Vee’s experience in the beginning half of the book, which makes total sense. The things we get are more heartfelt, since the guys were so worried about her. I smiled despite everything more towards the end, but also wanted to chuck my phone across the room. We get a big decision at the end that leads to a scary moment and a cliffy that you shouldn’t be surprised would be a doozy. This author is good at that haha. At least its complete so I didn’t have to wait!

Again Vee was my favorite part of this series, she is such a BA and it was showcased with how she handled the Indy thing after she is rescued. So amazing, laughed so hard!! I would definitely recommend this series. This is not my favorite of the series, I think because of the subject matter, it was hard to listen to it (nothing against the author, just more a personal preference). Went right into book 4 and LOVED IT. That review coming soon 😈😍

Dark Romance

Caged Royal by Lily Wildhart is a dark high school bully romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Heather Firth, Michael Joss, David Black, Gideon Frost, and Gregory Salinas. This is the third book in The Knights Of Echoes Cove series.

I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed getting Octavia, Finley, Easton, Maverick, and Lincoln's points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The cliffhanger left me begging for more. I can't wait to dive into the final book in the series Forever Royal.

Heather, Michael, David, Gideon, and Gregory did a great job on the narration. They all really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this series if you like dark romances, enemies-to-lovers romances, bully romances, or romantic suspense.
