Long ago, Susan Rodriguez was Harry Dresden's lover - until she was attacked by his enemies, leaving her torn between her own humanity and the bloodlust of the vampiric Red Court. Now Arianna Ortega, Duchess of the Red Court, has discovered a secret Susan has long kept, and she plans to use it - against Harry. To prevail this time, he may have no choice but to embrace the raging fury of his own untapped dark power. Because Harry's not fighting to save the world...He's fighting to save his child.

Totally not what you will expect!!!!

You will laugh, you will cry, you will enjoy and you will love this book. Have water, tissues, snacks and a stiff drink or great coffee nearby. Make sure you have time to listen all the way through. You'll feel like you're on a rollercoaster with all the twists and turns. It's a movie in your mind. So Amazingly Good!!!

This Story has it All!

This particular story has everything going on; family problems, troubles with the law, gun fights, explosions, terrorists, vampires, Merlin, queens, fight club, pizza, a limo ride with a fairy god mother, angels, churches, swords, weather, swamps, peace, politics, beer, the FBI, and at one point I am pretty sure everyone gets turned into a dog.

This is an adventure from start to finish.

At one point I almost quit the book because of what the author, Jim Butcher, almost did to a character who first appeared in Dead Beat. I thought this action was just a bit cruel and the character definitely earned better, but I should have known - the character's catch phrase kind of gives it away.

I have so many individual favorite parts of this story, but the MVP of this story has to go to: The Leanansidhe

And Molly Carpenter explains why The Leanansidhe gets the award:
"Spooky death Sidhe lady," Molly said. "Now upgraded to spooky, crazy death Sidhe lady.”

another great one for Harry Dresden

for Harry Dresden and team, there was a lot of team play in this but that's no problem because that's how Harry has always operated.

I love these books!

This book brings in a whole new character you don't know anything about. Harry would do anything to say family!

Changes promised and delivered!

This twelfth installment of The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher takes a sharp turn, goes along fir a bit, turns back... no, wait, it’s the other way... from beginning to end.

I won’t give any spoilers, I’ll just say that this is the most emotionally engaging book in the series so far. The other elements that drew me in from the beginning—the slowly developing back story, the three-dimensional characters, the strong women who have brains and bodies and aren’t afraid to use them, the fascinating “physics” of Butcher’s magical world—they’re all still there. With the added emotional explorations, I was on the edge of my seat for the whole book.

Definitely do not skip this one!

Ermagerd.

For realsies. Read the first 11 books for no reason other than the privilege of reading this book. That, and they are also amazing.

The pain never Changes

This is still the single most feel filled book I've ever experienced. James Marsters has done an excellent job bringing every bit of this to life and I can not imagine it being done better.
