Publisher's summary

One night, I was out with my girls enjoying a much-needed ladies night, wondering if one more dirty martini would push me over the edge. The next thing I knew, I was in the club’s bathroom listening to a woman screaming "no" and a man’s voice growling, "I know you want it." That asshole picked the wrong restroom, in the wrong club, at the wrong time.

Little did I know the asshole was Cade’s VP, and although we saved that woman from his clutches that night, she’d be found floating in a motel pool a month later.

Running a PI firm is a lot harder than taking pictures for one, especially when your professional life spills over into your personal one. I’m going through cupcakes like our new puppy goes through piddle pads, and if I’m not careful, there’s bound to be a Cupcake Overload.

Warning: this audiobook contains foul language, sex, some violence, and shenanigans. If none of that bothers you, grab a cupcake and listen in!

Cupcake Overload

I absolutely love this couple and all the friends around them.... and maybe all the cupcakes! This time, we are out to solve a murder and there are a few twists and dead ends to work around first. I loved the way it was solved and can't wait for more of this group!

Girl Posse BFF's & Cupcakes

Lila and her friends are out for girls-night when they find a young woman saying "No" to a greasy looking guy in the bathroom. Coming the the girls rescue, they think it's all over until Cade takes Lila to the compound to meet his brother MC's, only to discover the greasy guy is Cade's VP, Sledge, and Lila forgot to tell Cade about the incident. This causes Lila and Cade's first disagreement.

When Samantha, the young woman from the bathroom incident, turns up dead, all signs point to Sledge. He asks Lila to investigate and help clear his name. As Lila interviews everyone in Samantha's life, things finally start to fall into place. But will Lila and Cade make it through their first disagreement?

These books are short and sweet. I love how quickly things happen, but happen in a way that keeps you interested enough to want to keep reading. I'm looking forward to the next book. I can't wait to find out what happens in Hawaii and what's with Lila's feeling of dread. I'm also a little upset that the next book after that one doesn't come out until May. What am I going to do until then? UGH!

And all the talk of cupcakes is making me want to head over the the Sprinkles ATM near me. Yes, I live very close to a cupcake ATM... can you believe it. But I'm going to try to hold strong because I need to loose weight. LOL!

I do love this series, but think that a male voice doing the male speaking parts would give it that much more umph! Just saying...

Enjoyable Read

I enjoyed the previous story and this one was no different. Cade and Lila are so good together. Especially Cade with Lila's kids will just have you melting. Lila has come a long way from the women who was cheated on and I loved how she changed her life and became this awesome, loving bubbly person.
What I also loved about this story, is that its not just a romance story its a suspense one as well. And that was the part I loved best.
So a dead girl and another biker added to mix, what could go wrong

The narrator was not too bad. I still heard this very annoying buzzing sound on the audio, but other than that. Not a bad narration.

Cupcake Overload

This is the second book in the cupcake series. Bethany Lopez is a new to me author and this is the first audio narration I've listened to by Ava Zilver. I love this series, and its progression so far. Lila is recently divorced mother of twins, after he divorce she started working for a P.I. that left her his business and home after his death. Now Lila is working her first solo case and it could get between her and her new boyfriend Cade. I love that this is a suspense series but is still pretty funny and an easy listen. Lila is a great lead character, quirky and strong willed. Plus I highly sympathise with her cupcake addiction.

I was finally able to get the next part....

Oh my so much fun. I love this series. I think it's a different narrator, but she's just as good.
I'd definitely will be listening to it again.
This book was given to me for free at my request from the publisher or author or narrator and I provided this unbiased voluntary review.

An indulgent treat!

Book two of this series is full of the same fun and quirkiness that Bethany Lopez shared with us in the first installment. Lila starts this story by stopping a possible attack of a woman by none other then Sledge, a fellow member of Cade's MC. When that woman is found dead, Sledge hires Lila to clear his name. Off we go on the search for justice. I love all the secondary characters Lopez includes in these books. From Lila's ex, to the various suspects they add such flavor keeping the listen fresh and interesting. The relationship between Cade and Lila is growing, the steam factor high and their love evident. The addition of puppy CB is sweet(love the name too), the twins adding humor and that touch of real life balance. And we can't forget the cupcakes! So many interesting flavors, I would love the recipes!

The narration by Ava Zilver is wonderful. She brings each character to life with a different voice and personality. It's my first listen by her and I will be looking for more!

Great Read

Cupcake Overload (Delilah Horton #2) was another great read by Bethany Lopez. Lila spent a much needed ladies night out with her friends. She never expected that the night out would end with a woman in the club's bathroom listening to a woman tell a man no, while he demands that she wants it. She never would have imagined that the man would be her boyfriend Code's VP. But a month late she is found dead in a motel pool. Lila runs a PI firm and has to find out what happened to fix both her personal and professional life. I enjoyed reading this story and can't wait to read more by Bethany Lopez.

Loved the first book. Not so much this one.

I really, really, really loved the first book and could not be happier to jump back into this one. There are some startling differences between two. First, this book has a different narrator. While this narrator was good, she was not better than the narrator in book one. She also had some editing errors as well as too long a pause between chapters. Too long. Her mispronunciations, though not many, did not help my like for her either.

The story picks up where book one ends. Lila and Cade are in a relationship now. Lila owns the PI agency and the cupcake love continues. Just like the narration, the story had some issues for me. Lila gets a phone number as a clue but does not share it with her cop friend. LIla and the cop friend are outside a bar where Cade is roughing up someone for information but the cop does not intervene. Sigh.
