Story
My darling little boy Albie adores playing at our new neighbours’ house. And after the terrible year we’ve had, I feel so lucky that we can start over in this perfect place, with new friends who treat Albie like the son they never had. He can’t stop talking about the tree house they’re building him, and the cookies they bake together. But as time passes, something starts to feel wrong. Why don’t they ever open the front door more than a crack? They told me they had no children so who does the small pink tricycle I saw in their hall belong to?

Since that fateful night I have always kept myself to myself. Reserved. Private. Alone. Some people think I am too quiet. That life is passing me by. But I know there is safety in my own company. That no one can hurt me if I don’t let them get too close. Until the day I meet him. A handsome, charming stranger. A chance for me to take a risk…finally? In 1972, when workers in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, were digging the foundations for a new development, the last thing they expected to find was a skeleton at the bottom of a well. Who the skeleton was and how it got there were two of the long-held secrets kept by the residents of Chicken Hill, the dilapidated neighborhood where immigrant Jews and African Americans lived side by side and shared ambitions and sorrows.

UrbanMyth: It was lauded as an alternative to the performative, show-your-best-self platforms—an anonymous discussion board grouped by zip code. The residents of Manhattan’s exclusive Upper East Side disclosed it all, things they would never share with their friends or their spouses: secret bank accounts, steamy affairs, tidbits of juicy gossip. So when a “hacktivist” group breaks into the forum and exposes the real identity of each poster, the repercussions echo down Park Avenue with a force that none could have anticipated.

On Harlow Street, the well-to-do neighborhood couples and their children gather for a catered barbecue as the summer winds down; drinks continue late into the night. Everything is fabulous until the picture-perfect hostess explodes in fury because her son disobeys her. Everyone at the party hears her exquisite veneer crack—loud and clear. Before long, that same young boy falls from his bedside window in the middle of the night. And then, his mother can only sit by her son’s hospital bed, where she refuses to speak to anyone, and his life hangs in the balance.

It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Story
Three months ago, Tansy Bloom quit monster hunting. Since then, she’s been trying to live a normal life (whatever that means), but ending up single, unemployed, and living on a boat outside her godfather’s pub definitely wasn’t part of the plan. So, when Tansy’s ex-husband – fellow monster hunter Rex Barclay – turns up like a bad penny and asks for her help with his latest investigation, Tansy reluctantly agrees. At first, the job appears to be a straightforward monster hunt – following a spate of large creature sightings, Rex believes a werewolf is on the loose in Norfolk.

Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Spectacular, Stunning, WOW!
Adam Ferranti, a fallen investigative journalist, now drunkenly content to file the occasional story … until a serial killer decides to make him part of HIS story! Detective Sergeant Stephanie Walker, tough, smart and on the trail of that same serial killer…Holy WOW! Filled with twists, turns, and jaw dropping surprises that left this listener stunned SPEECHLESS, “Deadline” is SPECTACULAR! The characters are plentiful, deliciously detailed, finely developed and all fully fleshed out! The plot, THIS stunning, beautifully detailed, twisty turning, jaw dropping plot, not only kept me guessing, but stunned me speechless at the cleverly diabolical way everything wrapped up! No spoilers! Nuh uh, my lips are sealed, I am not telling, but I will say I didn’t see IT coming! I was taken completely by surprise at that BRILLIANT reveal! I had to stop the audio, back up and replay! Not because I didn’t understand, everything was perfectly clear, but because it was so STUNNINGLY brilliant I just had to hear it again! While listening, I throughly enjoyed the clear, concise, beautiful narration that brought the author’s vision to life. Twelve hours after finishing “Deadline”, it’s still with me! The story, the characters, the “feel”, it’s still with me! I will certainly be listening again! Five spectacular stars!
