Als Beschaffer und Verwahrer rarer okkulter Antiquitäten im Auftrag eines im Schatten des formlosen Wanderers konspirierenden Geheimbunds und Autor in Personalunion hat XvM natürlich die ein oder andere Geschichte zu erzählen. Der wehrhafte Aristokrat bewohnt eine unikale Welt seltener Verbindlichkeiten, und da er der Allgemeinheit wenig verbunden ist, gebiert seine exterritoriale Sicht auf das Wuseln jener bloß zum Zwecke des Frondienstes Gezeugter religionsfeindliche, gesellschaftskritische Schwärmereien – immerhin weiß er, wovon er schreibt.
Eigentlich mutet all dies doch recht apart an, doch der der Einfluss einer maliziösen Macht hält an – auf die Menschheit im Allgemeinen und im Besonderen auf jene, die bestimmte metaphysische Geheimnisse zu enträtseln suchen. Fürwahr, die Invasion der "Einnistlinge" hat bereits stattgefunden; ihr hohes Fest der Blasphemie, jener Tag der Techno-Transsubstantiation rückt gnadenlos näher… Es kommt der Moment, da sich der Protagonist fragen muss, welche vermeintlich gottgewollten Grenzen er bereit ist zu überschreiten – nicht bloß um eines vergänglichen Vorteils, sondern um seiner schieren Existenz willen.
Eine nicht vollends humorfreie Nachtmeerfahrt zwischen Okkultismus, Glaubensfragen und Geheimbündischem in den amorphen Schatten alter Götter. Eine mehrdeutige, nicht ungefährliche Darbietung, die bedeutsame Schichten jenes Vorhangs lüftet, dessen Saum die Arglosen "Realität" nennen.
