Jake Carter took the the job aboard the transport class vessel Fenrir, in order to escape. But little did he know, that three quarters into the trip to Ceres-12, an asteroid colony a solar system away, the ship's AI would malfunction, and the entire crew of maintenance synths aboard would start killing people. Now, freshly awoken from cryo, he finds that nearly all of the crew has been slaughtered, and he is now headlong in a fight for survival. Alongside a young, cybernetic data analyst named Kara, he must do exactly what he was trying to do in the beginning. Escape.Derivative is a fast paced, sci-fi horror that follows along two crew members who have managed to survive a shipwide slaughter at the hands of rogue synthetics. They have to do everything in their power to not only hide from the synths stalking the ship, but the few remaining survivors who seem to have welcomed the horror. It is tense, claustrophobic and harrowing from start to finish.
