3.5 stars! I felt like most of this book was a three star for me, until the last page! Now I am super curious to see what happens next. Tate James books are normally hit or miss for me. This was somewhere in between so I am intrigued enough to continue the series. The audio on this was ok. For some reason the male part had a lot of unnecessary pausing, so it was a bit distracting.

Tate makes readers hurt so good
The duet style narration is top notch. Tate James is an evil queen if cliffhangers! MF contemporary thrilled in the Shadow Grove world. Great plot twists. Very steamy!

Sooo GOOD!
I have read every one of Tate James books. She always has awesome narrators!! I love that all of the series are connected but not connected. They are in the same world, and make appearances here and there. I LOVE IT, and I can’t wait to hear more!!!

Dream team narrators!
I love every Tate James book I listen to. Lucas Webley and Michelle Sparks are the dream team for narrators. They bring John and Tris to life. I cannot wait for book 2.
That plot twist cliff hanger ending is even better in audio.

I finished this book hours ago and I still have yet to pick my jaw up off the floor from that ending. That ending was just… wow… ok I did not see that one coming one bit.
This book is seriously so epic and I loved every second of reading it. Tris is an awesome character. She is so comfortable with herself as a person and not afraid to snark back at John. John is on the hunt for a very specific painting so he can win the Games for a 6th time & Tris is his key to it. What starts as a means to an end definitely progresses much further & oh boy, does it explode in so many ways.
This book has an age gap, forbidden romance (professor and TA), a snarky artist, a world renowned thief and a whole lot of lies. This makes for such an amazing read. I cannot wait to dive into book 2!
The audiobook for this one is so good & I loved the duet narration for this book!
