Publisher's summary

How far can a hero fall?

Far enough to lose his soul? Dhamon Grimwulf, once a Hero of the Heart, has sunk into a bitter life of crime and squalor. Now, as the great dragon overlords of the Fifth Age coldly plot to strengthen their rule and to destroy their enemies, he must somehow find the will to redeem himself. But perhaps it is too late.

Downfall marks the return of Dhamon and other characters from author Jean Rabe's bestselling Dragons of a New Age trilogy.

Please use a narrator that can actually read.

I can't enjoy this story with this narrator. A very monotone voice, terrible pronunciation. I realize that the same narrator from a previous trilogy can't always be the same narrator of the next one, but please listen to other books in the series and read the book out loud to yourself before actually committing to an audiobook.

Eh!

It was alright, it got better towards the end. I always hate when the narrator's change the names are pronounced. The story was a little predictable, overall it was okay.

wanting to enjoy this

I am so so so wanting to enjoy this continuation story and he's three titles but I honestly don't think at this point I will get the next two books being that I am just constantly irritated by the miss pronunciation of the names and things in the story! every time the narrator mispronounces a name I fight the urge to yell the real name as it should be said, and I do not always win that fight. I know it doesn't seem like a good reason to not want to experience and enjoy the rest of the books in this series but

The reader is terrible

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would not recommend this book to any one the reader is terrible.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Sam Riegel?

Josh Clark

Any additional comments?

Sam Riegel obviously has a 4th grade reading level, I coudlnt make it through the first chapter. He couldn't even read the name feral correct instead he called her for real. Anyways that's just one example of many I would not recommend this book.

Solid but nothing special...

A good D&D book. Nothing special here. But enjoyable all the same. Solid narration from Sam Riegel.

Downfall

I’ve been enjoying Jean Rabe this time around. I missed this story 20’years ago and am thoroughly enjoying it. It’s a solid DragonLance adventure.
BTW the narration is good for DragonLance.

If you like junk you'll love this throwaway story

1. This was the most meaningless story I think I've read in the Dragonlance pantheon. It shares not one shred of tangible meaning to any larger (much less epic) storyline that I've come to love and expect from a Dragonlance series. There is no mechanic that drove this, the first book in a new trilogy, like the epic quest from the one before this, much less the rest of the DL core series. absolute tosser, this one.
2. The core characters took way too far of a swing in moral alignment in the span of two years with not nearly good enough explanation or reason. I was reading a story about characters from the last trilogy that were comoletely foreign to me. and the supporting characters were unvelievable and boring. There was maybe one character I actually cared for. And that was the one that stayed reasonable true to their charavter from the last series. The rest of the characters and the story and plot, I literally had no desire to care about in the least bit. it
3. As producers and directors of audio books, can you PLEASE pay attention to the material that came before your new project? You may care more about your creative license and your voice actor's but we readers have spent upwards of 60 hours listening to a trilogy that took place immediately before this one and we have gotten used to the accents and pronunciations prior actors breathed into these characters. please make an effort at least!
