A business parable about how to create a start-up that won't trap you when you want to sell it. According to John Warrillow, the number one mistake entrepreneurs make is to build a business that relies too heavily on them. Thus, when the time comes to sell, buyers aren't confident that the company-even if it's profitable-can stand on its own. To illustrate this, Warrillow introduces us to a fictional small business owner named Alex who is struggling to sell his advertising agency.

Just a Fantastic Book for our "New Age"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this to any Small business wanting to learn how to leverage the World of internet marketing to level the playing field for themselves against the BIG retail giants.
What did you like best about this story?
Its breadth of content.
What does John Jantsch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Listening is always a more powerful "Learning" experience , your memory claiming of the information is so much more definite and the audio process allows you to replay instantly what you need to clarify what you heard when reading creates the process of "Lazy Learning" were you tend to not reread a section that you should have because our minds are "Conditioned" to just keep reading rather then review.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No

Marketing gimmicks and fads might get “likes” but they do not build long-term businesses. This book is a breathe of fresh air because it gives you the must-have FUNDAMENTALS of marketing, both offline and online, that will help your marketing work in any economy and in any decade. If you have not read Duct Tape Marketing you are basically missing out on one of the most important business books on planet earth. Amazing Amount of Practical Information! Great!
Very practical book with a couple of hundred marketing ideas! I love books like this that are real and no-nonsense.
A must-listen audio book!
