Publisher's summary

Follow Jacob Mitzak and Will Hessler as they stack Nazi souls like firewood from San Francisco to Rogue River.

In 1978 San Francisco, Will Hessler continues his journey from starving artist to Mossad operative under the watchful eye of Jacob Mitzak. The Hammer of Israel is going to teach Will what it takes to survive in the world of assassination and espionage, but before Will’s training is complete, a shadow from the past returns. Jurgen Steiner seeks to fuse the old-breed Nazi holdouts with the new white nationalist underground and finish what he started in New York City.

Has Will learned enough to keep his head above water while putting his enemies underground?

Where will we go from here?

What can I say? After being intrigued with Book 1 and the overall story line I still had some questions both on the past interactions as well as where this would go to moving forward. Book 2 helped to clear up those questions, created new tangents and blended all of the various plot lines superbly. "Watching" the main character grow up before your eyes and morph into a person you didn't expect is especially rewarding. When you get to the end of 4 hours and are pondering the various ways the story can continue you can't wait to get to the next installment and see where things will go. We shall see.

A second great read / listen in this series

I loved 'Among Wolves,' the first book in this series, and 'Education' was its equal - this promises to be an exciting series. The narration is excellent and the storyline is both realistic and captivating.

Better than The First

I was a bit disappointed with the first book in this series as it dragged although I guess the scene needed to be set for the rest of the series. This book moved along much better and was a very enjoyable book. Looking forward to more of the same in this series.

Such a Refresh Take

The story itself continues to be a refreshing take on a tried and true genre. Ever read a thriller and ask yourself “How do these characters ever grow up to be spies/agents/assassins?” Well if you haven’t, you should. And this book and series tells you a great story of how that happens. You do get introduced to a lot of new characters and (quasi spoiler) quite a few die. But it’s a great story of coming of age to be a spy part 2. A couple of great plot twists that I won’t ruin for you and a little bit of Thunderdome action as well. Will H gets put through the ringer and you wonder if the guy ever has an emotional breaking point, but what I also enjoy about this series is the Hero is not imbued with any super natural grit that lets them shed bullets wounds and bad guys with ease. Nope, our guy Will feels everything and you follow him as he is mentally processing the confusing surroundings he finds himself in.
I’m looking forward to the rest of these books and it’s spin offs as well
