The police are stretched to the breaking point with multiple copycat murders. And Matt and his girlfriend Liz will fight for everything they care about in a heart-stopping conclusion that will have you on the edge of your seat.

buyer beware

The narration was painful, at times produced as though reading a bedtime book to a child. The story doesn't come close to the Nikki Galena books that hold your attention.
listen to the sample. Better yet, pass this one by.

Not as good as other series

I really did NOT like this narrator! I had to check if I had any other books read by him, but I am good!
Story is ok, not as good as the other series by the same author. Also really hate knowing who the
killer is before the detectives.

Enjoyed this one too. Joy Ellis is a talent! I would recommend for those who don’t mind swearing

interesting charaters

If you enjoy murder mystery and are a fan of Joy Ellis.... I am yet to be disappointed by this author

The narrator should win an award for the stellar voice performances!

Once again, Joy Ellis have created an series with exceptional twists and turns that hold the reader's attention all throughout.

Great story! 

Another great story from ELLIS! I was very excited when several of her other characters showed up in the story! Onto the next one in the series! 

Uneven

This is my second Matt Ballard book and I’m sorry to only be able to give it 3 stars.
Ellis has, in this, and the first book, a great story. I can forgive much if the story is worthwhile. I may even read another.
However, sigh…the problems. The biggest is the dialogue. The dialogue is unbelievable. Painfully so. Men, cops? talking like Hallmark writers imagine English posh people speak. It’s so bad.
Top that dialogue off with some overwrought acting in the narration and the only thing that saves these two books is the actual story. She writes some cool murder mysteries.

Good story - terrible narration

The characters in this book are from previous storylines but because of the narration i couldn’t recognize them until well into the story. Very disappointing.

Good series continues

Enjoyable second book in the series. I was entertained by the story as well as surprised. There was no early prediction for me as to the outcome. It was another good one by Joy Ellis.

Great addition to the Ellis collection

This is another great story from the Joy Ellis collection. I am addicted to her stories. This is no different. This was captivating and even ended with the plot twist like I expected.
