About this listen

Continuing the milestone 50th anniversary celebration of Star Trek - an epic new trilogy that stretches from the events of the Original Series movie The Search for Spock to The Next Generation!

When Klingon commander Kruge died in combat against James T. Kirk on the Genesis planet back in 2285, he left behind a powerful house in disarray - and a series of ticking time bombs: the Phantom Wing, a secret squadron of advanced Birds-of-Prey; a cabal of loyal officers intent on securing his heritage; and young Korgh, his thwarted would-be heir, willing to wait a Klingon lifetime to enact his vengeance.

Now, 100 years later, while on a diplomatic mission for the United Federation of Planets, Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the USS Enterprise are snared in the aged Korgh's trap - and thrust directly in the middle of an ancient conflict. But as Commander Worf soon learns, Korgh may be after far bigger game than anyone imagines, confronting the Federation-Klingon alliance with a crisis unlike any it has ever seen!

New Unabridged Star Trek Novels - Impressive!

This is the first of a new trilogy of books. The first act was fun and filled with intrigue. Petcoff continues to impress & improve on his character voices. Millar has spun a very interesting start to the trilogy.

Really good

Most Audible Star Trek books are a mediocre experienced at best, this one had a very impressive story and complicated plot and it was read by a very entertaining narrator. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

Excellent Trilogy

Upon reading other reviews, I first wasn't too sure if I would like this book. First off, I'm more of a TOS fan. Second, another review made it sound as if it was too complicated with too many characters and Klingon names that all sounded alike. While yes, there are many Klingons in this book, as the characters and the story develop, their names become second nature. I would say that this book sets the scene and introduces you to the characters. It also sets the story into motion. While I would've liked to hear more of the TOS characters, it was at least good to have them as part of the story. I would say this first book is very good, but the two that follow are excellent. I highly recommend this trilogy and as always, Robert Petkoff does a fantastic at job at narrating. Enjoy!
