About this listen

It Seemed like a Good Idea at the Time, from best-selling author Kylie Scott, is a brand-new audiobook that will have listeners hooked.

Returning home for her father’s wedding was never going to be easy for Adele. If being sent away at 18 hadn’t been bad enough, the mess she left behind when she made a pass at her dad’s business partner sure was.

Fifteen years older than her, Pete had been her crush for as long as she could remember. But she’d misread the situation - confusing friendliness for undying love. Awkward. Add her father to the misunderstanding, and Pete had been left with a broken nose and a business on the edge of ruin. The man had to be just as glad as everyone else when she left town.

Seven years on, things are different. Adele is no longer a kid, but a fully grown adult more than capable of getting through the wedding and being polite. But all it takes is seeing him again to bring back all those old feelings.

Sometimes first loves are the truest.

It was good

The story was good. The only nit-picky remark I have is that there are so many narrators that are either Australian or able to perform an Australian accent. It was as I was listening, and they were using Australian terms and slang and talking about how wonderful that it was and it kinda bothered me that the narrator, who is great btw, just had a normal American accent.

I love this author

I really live the female characters. while these stories are a fairytale to the requisite happy ending, the heroines if these stories are relatable.

good at the time

We didnt get to feel enough from Pete's perspective ... I think I would have liked to have Adele and Peter both telling the story ... even if the narrator read both. I loved the characters, but the ending was rushed and could have had a bigger climax/conflict ...rather than a tree collapse that was so rushed it barely happened and Pete didn't seem worried about her at all. no call or visit to see how she was. I would have rather have had some dramatic walk out where she disappears for a week to the beach and no one tells him where she is. Then maybe she goes out on a date with Jeremy for dinner and Pete finds out or something. I would have loved to hear the baby shopping banter or that of her father and Pete growling at each other as they put together a crib or built a playhouse .... her visiting Pete's dad one day or his dad coming to apologize to her ... just needed a little more substance. we didn't even get Pete's sister meeting her. it's like you got bored and wanted to stop writing.

Fun and Real!

There is something about Kylie Scott books that I love. Even though I'm 71 and her books are more for the younger generation I really enjoy them. She has a way of expressing herself through the characters that is so real and funny. I'm sure a lot of their conversations are sarcastic, but I enjoy that type of conversations. Looking forward to her next book!

Throughly enjoyed!

Really enjoyed this book. The story was well written. This is my second book by Kylie Scott and I can't wait to hear more. Andi Arnt is one of the best narrators. She truly brings characters to life.

a very good idea

Unrequited teenage love. Yeah, there's definitely spark and fireworks and a fist flying. It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time is a wonderful story. Its sexy, sweet, and rips you apart in all the best ways your hopeless romantic self will enjoy.

Andi does an amazing job narrating, as usual.

Total hit, however…

I really did love this book. I usually don’t like books where they jump back in time, but these times were short each time it happened. The pacing of this book was perfect in my opinion. The only thing I have a problem with is the rushed ending, I wanted more. The more books I read by Kylie Scott, I become more of a fan of her work.
