His muse and his jewel…

Three months ago, Aymee had no idea the kraken—half-human sea dwellers—even existed. Now, the violet eyes of the kraken Arkon haunt her imagination, and she longs to know his touch. But word of his people has spread beyond The Watch, and Aymee’s attraction to Arkon may endanger the safety of human and kraken alike. To protect him, can she bring herself to forsake him? Is her desire for Arkon worth putting both their worlds at risk?

Her inspiration and her passion…

Arkon has spent his life in the pursuit of knowledge. Then he met Aymee and found a new quest: to make her his. She inspires him, draws him in, dominates his thoughts. When he finally builds the courage to approach her, she’s everything he imagined and more. But a group of murderous humans are hunting the kraken, and continued contact with Aymee may destroy them both. Now that he’s tasted her sweetness, he can’t give her up…but can he risk his world and his people to satisfy his need for her?

Love Tiffany Roberts...

...not so much the narrator. I agree with other commenters that said the original narrators were fantastic. This one is clearly talented as well, but the sudden change of accent between books, and the choice to employ the accent when speaking but not when thinking, was jarring and off-putting. However, the narrator's voice overall was pleasing to me and eventually I stopped noticing the weird accent quite so much by the end. So, hopefully it will disappear from my notice throughout the remainder of the series as I scanned ahead and saw the same narrator voices the remaining books.

More Kraken, better narrator

Let me start by saying this series is great. I binged the whole series in ebook format a year ago and am happy it is finally being made in audio. thus I'm going to focus on the quality of the narration.
This is a new narrator from the first book, and I find him to be a big improvement. He does a much better job of inflecting emotion and creating distinct voices for different characters. I will say, his choice of accent for the Kraken does make me laugh, but is totally acceptable. Arkon definitely sounds a lot like J'zargo from Skyrim, so the Kraken basically have a Khajit accent with a slight Jamaican twist. I'm fine with this and like that the Kraken have a uniform accent with different voices between them.
My one complaint is he does mispronounce some words that are repeated a lot (ex: prowess as prowress and lithe as lith). I'm willing to deal with that though in order for the characters to feel more alive. I'm very excited to continue this series in audio.

Quite an Imagination

This was a cute story; moved a bit slow at times but was quite interesting. I hope the next book is about the last Kraken in the inner circle. It should be interesting. Arvin was so innocent and Amy was the right woman for him. A story about the Human male will also be interesting. Eric did a good job with narration; loved his voice for Arcon.

Loved it!

I was so invested in these characters and their struggles I was on edge almost the entire book while they were in danger!!! So good.

The narrator...really did a great job all in all, but come on! His mispronouncations of several words was ridiculous 🙄. Lithe was pronounced lith (like with) and reverberation was pronounced rever-bration (rhyming with never). Seriously? Shouldn't voice actors have a better grasp on the English language than this?

I wish they had stuck with the 1st narrators

I enjoyed the story but I liked it when they had 2 narrators Hollie Jackson is a genius when it comes to bringing books to life don't get me wrong the narrator they had was good but I enjoyed the 1st 2 and was hoping that they would be brought back for book 2 also the story felt kind of slow but other than that good book
