Publisher's summary

From the acclaimed author Publishers Weekly called "a gifted writer" comes this nail-biting legal thriller in the best-selling tradition of John Grisham and Scott Turow. Aaron Littmann, the chairman of one of the country's most prestigious law firms, has just been contacted by a high-profile defense attorney whose client is Nikolai Garkov, a Russian businessman arraigned on terrorism charges for pulling the financial strings behind recent treasonous acts. The attorney informs Aaron that Garkov is looking to switch representation and will pay $100,000 just to take the meeting. But Aaron doesn't have any choice, as Garkov is ready to go public with the damning evidence that Aaron and the judge in the high-profile case - Faith Nichols - had a torrid affair during another recent case. Filled with suspense, twists, and turns, Losing Faith will captivate legal thriller fans everywhere.

Compelling Legal Thriller

Any additional comments?

I love a good mystery/thriller but haven't really dabbled in the legal thriller... This book popped up on my homepage so I decided to give it a try - I'm about halfway through and I don't want to stop listening :)!

The narration is perfect in my opinion - he changes his voice just enough between characters so you know who is talking, but not so much that it sounds fake or like a cartoon.

And the characters are great (even the nasty ones)!

Adam Mitzner does it again

Adam Mitzner's got the ability to give you deep insight into characters without going so deep into their physical description that the characters become cardboard cutouts to you. I was educated and entertained. It's ironic that if you let yourself feel, there's a little bit of them all in you. Cynthia's pragmatism and hope. Adam's righteousness. Faith's ennui and frustration. Rachel's fixation with the unattainable. I could go on, but that's Mitzner's job... In his next book. Would like to see more of Rachel too!

Average.

Just your joe average mystery thriller. Not great. Not bad. Cookie cutter. Somewhat predictable. Not captivating, but not boring either.

This is a fast-paced journey with colorful characters and an incredible narrator.

It is what it is: story through legal

Interesting. Easy to listen to while working. Enjoyable. I would listen to another one by same author.

Good ending but you can figure it out

A nice summer read by an author who knows how to spin a good yarn.

For You if You Like Legal Dramas

Would you listen to Losing Faith again? Why?

No. What I liked about it was the tension of wanting to see what happened next. That cannot ever be experienced a second time.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot moved along at a nice pace, with enough suspense to make me want to continue listening to see what twists might be thrown in.

Which scene was your favorite?

Not so much a scene, but the moments when Aaron realizes that it is his wife and family that he really cherishes.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. I enjoyed it more as an intellectual exercise.

Any additional comments?

The conclusion was unsatisfying, leaving a huge question about why this murder was committed at all.

Better than average

Book has a protagonist that, for a change, I didn't want to kill myself for the current stupid actions. Past behaviors aside. I did guess the end but details I didn't guess. Good read and narration.
