Publisher's summary

Penelope Weston does not like Benedict Lennox, Lord Atherton. He may be the suave and charming heir to an earl as well as the most handsome man on earth, but she can't forget how he abandoned a friend in need - nor how he once courted her sister, Abigail. He's the last man she would ever marry. If only she didn't feel so attracted to the arrogant scoundrel....

Once upon a time, Benedict thought that he and Penelope got along rather well. Though he needs a wealthy bride to escape his cruel father's control, spirited Penelope just doesn't suit his plans for a model marriage - until a good deed goes awry, and scandalous rumors link his name to Penelope's. She might not be the quiet, sensible wife he thought he wanted, but she is beautiful, beguiling, and far more passionate than he ever imagined. Can a marriage begun in scandal become a love match, too?

Contains mature themes.

Wanted: more time with this wonderful series!

This is such a good series with interesting characters, exciting plots and yummy sexual interludes. With a perfectly wonderful narrator and lots of surprises it's a series to love!

Great listen

Enjoyed the story. Not sure sure I liked the ‘giggles’ but found the steamy scenes to my liking! Haha

Oh my heart.

Oh my heart, “I’d rather die trying to save her than live being your heir!” Great story, great narration!

Fun story

Great characters. This was a good read (listen.) I think Caroline Linden is a good writer and her books are fun. The Ways To Sin is a thread running through the series.

I have enjoyed this series and I anticipated this book's release. I had one issue with a story line left unresolved. A subsequent book perhaps? Good book but this was not my favorite.

I wasn't completely satisfied with the narrator. She just lacked something.

Excellent listening

After listening to the Wagers of Sin series, I was initially disappointed in this book. The beginnig was slow...very slow. I had to restart several times because I kept tuning out. Penelope, the main female character was a pain in the neck. She was selfish, obstinate, headstrong and generally annoying. But, finally the book picked up and got better and better. There is a little mystery and the protagonist is absolutely horrid...making for an interesting listen. So....once again, C Linden and Beverley A. Crick have created a book worth listening to over and over. Thank you ladies.

Great love scenes

The story wasn’t the best, felt like a lot was missing and she annoyed me many times, but I loved the love scenes. Very steamy, almost perfect love making scenes.

So so boring

I found my interest waning and are an end by chapter 12. The heroine and her nosy meddlesome character is tiresome.

Good story ruined by narrator

I wish I had read this instead of listening to it. By far the most annoying narrator I have heard. Story is great and I can’t wait to read the next one.

Hard to follow

Don’t know if the fault lies more with the author or the narrator, but it was very confusing to follow the conversations. I got tired of having to go back and listen to a passage again to piece it together, so I gave up. Only made it a few chapters in
