sorely disappointed

having finished reading all of agatha christie’s works, i was wanting for more & was so excited and curious to see how this would work out. I really wanted to give this a chance and even reached the 5th story before i had to cut my losses and give up. Nowhere do the stories come near to the original author’s style. The similarities begin and end only with miss marp’e’s name & knitting and thats about it. The stories are super boring, no spark of excitement whatsoever & the ludicrous plots birder on the nonsensical at times.

True blue Agatha christie fans, save your credit & skip this one. Youre welcome.

Great book

All the authors did a superb job bringing Miss Marple back to life. I hope they can do it again!

Delightful Addition to the Miss Marple Canon

Delightful new Miss Marple short stories. She lives on in these new adaptations. Great for a new generation of crime sleuth enthusiasts.

I love these mysteries - they felt very true to Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple and the readers were terrific.

I believe that Agatha Christie would be proud of these offerings. For the most part they are true Agatha products

Not bad.

Christie is very difficult to mimic. All in all, these writers did not do a half bad job. Was it on par with Christie? No. Was it entertaining? Yes. The stories were well-written and engaging, but they were not all successful in capturing the essence of Miss Marple. Good, cozy, murder mysteries, but if you are a Christie fan who can not tolerate her works to be blemished; this one is not for you. Otherwise, a fun listen.

The stories held my interest throughout, quite an editorial feat in such an extensive.collection!

Stories and performers were consistently top quality. The only exception was the terrible attempt at American accents in one of the early stories.

Worthy of the phenomenal Agatha Christie

They would have definitely taken me in if I didn't know that they originated from different authors. I am so grateful for the stories and thank the authors and narrators for splendid work. If only they would create some more Miss Marple stories!

Fantastic Collection!

These authors have done an amazing job of continuing Miss Marple’s sleuthing from post-WW2 through the sixties. Amazingly, the different narrators were excellent, with the exception of one, who read fluently and expressively, but was too abrasive to enjoy. All of the authors are talented writers, and the variety of tales was wonderful. I highly recommend this book and audiobook.

Wow!

Truly surprising stories. Miss Marple is such a well defined character and the different perspectives shown by each author are mostly admirable. All of the narration is terrific. Stand out offerings: Murder in Small Places and The Disappearance. Luck is really only cunning, says one character. I think Miss Marple might agree.
