Senior co-administrator of the Norcoast Salmon Research Facility, Dr. Mackenzie Connor was a biologist who studied the spawning habits of salmon. With the data available there, Mac begins to suspect that the Dhyrn may not be ruthless destroyers. Their actions may be a response to something simpler and more deadly - the imperative to migrate. But even if Mac is right, can she and her team discover why this is happening and how to halt the Dhryn?

Love the story - 'hero's' voice not for me

I am a longtime fan of the series, and was excited to listen to the audio version. For the most part the narrator does a very good job keeping voices distinct and accents unique, with the exception of some male voices which sound very very similar - when she tries to make a deep male voice the accents are all the same. Also, not quite sure who made decision on what voice/accent to use for the male protagonist but doesn't work for me. That said I have listened to the first two and will definitely buy the third.

Addicted now and can’t stop

It is hard to find books with worlds and characters that I grow so fond of, and that I miss when I finish the last chapter. I was unsure with the first book is this series would be one of them. This second book gave me the feels that I crave. I’m still not happy with the narrator’s choices for male voices but they have grown on me to the point I no longer flinch when they speak. I love the female voices and some female leaning gender neutral voices.

So will you love this book as much as I did? No idea but if you love slow moving stories that give the sensation of chocolate melting in your mouth, then this series might be something you enjoy.
