When a spaceship landed in an open field in the quiet mill town of Sorrow Falls, Massachusetts, everyone realized humankind was not alone in the universe. With that realization everyone freaked out for a little while. Or almost everyone. The residents of Sorrow Falls took the news pretty well. This could have been due to a certain local quality of unflappability, or it could have been that in three years the ship did exactly nothing other than sit quietly in that field, and nobody understood the full extent of this nothing the ship was doing better than the people who lived right next door.

Seriously, though, I didn't think that this book that was one the top of a recommendations list I got in an email would deliver, but it did.

Surprising find with MANY twists.
Would you listen to Not Alone again? Why?
I don't listen to audiobooks twice in general, so no, I would not.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The PR agency woman was a complex, interesting and evolving character. Enjoyed her accent, and her attitude.
Which character – as performed by James Patrick Cronin – was your favorite?
As above.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Actually it is a LONG book, and that would be impractical, but I did blow through it pretty quick notwithstanding.
Any additional comments?
This book is full of twists, rich characters and unique concepts. It was a delight, a surprise and comes highly recommended.

Keeps you all the way to the end.
This was one of those stories that you just cannot stop listening too. I think I listened to the last 4 hours without stopping.
It is also one of those stories that after you have finished, you just sit and contemplate the journey for a while quietly by yourself. The twists, the turns, the what if's.

Very satisfying listen.
Other reviews aren't wrong; this is a bit long. But overall it's quite entertaining and thought provoking. Character development is quite believable and the story arc has just enough twists and turns. Very glad I listened.

Great story line. It kept me wanting to know more
