Publisher's summary

Drafted by the NHL at 18, Jordan Garrison was headed for fame, and there was only one person he wanted to share it with - Jessie Caplan. He was crazy in love with her and had finally told her so. They shared an amazing night...and then everything fell apart.

Jessie tries not to think about the night she gave herself to Jordan - or how he broke her heart. She tries not to think about it, but she does. Especially now, when she's staring into his sky-blue eyes for the first time in six years. After so much time and torment, she can't tell if she loves him or hates him. But Jordan has learned enough to know a connection like theirs is rare. He was lucky to find Jessie once. No way will he lose her again.

Second Chance - Childhood Love

Jessie and Jordy have been best friends since they were eight years old, when Jessie and her two younger sisters moved to live with their grandmother after their mother passed away.

Around the time they are eighteen years old, they are both in love with each other, but dating other people.

But with teenage mistakes and misunderstandings, they spend six years apart. Until Jessie's grandmother passes and Jordy returns to their hometown for the funeral. Jordy is now a famous and infamous hockey player and Jessie is almost at the end of her internship to be a physical therapist.

Their meeting, sparks a conversation about the past and what really happened from each others perspective.

This is a second chance romance and my first Victoria Denault book. I liked, though I thought the storyline was a little simplistic. There were some cute moments and I would read more, especially in this series and I'm curious about Luc and Rose, and Devin and Callie.

Loved it

I loved this story. You don’t have to like hokey to enjoy One More Shot. I loved slow burn romance where it took a while for the hero and heroine took a while to jump back to bed. Although Jordan was a man “ whore”, He had to work really hard to get Jessie’s attention. Also, Jessie didn’t give in so easily which I found often in romance story. I also love dual narrators and they did a good job for bringing the characters to life. I highly recommend!

I love love

This was an amazing love story. I love how the author wrote the story, going back in time throughout so that as the reader/listener you understood why things happened the way they did.

DNF

I love sports romance, especially hockey, but this one started with how much of a sl*t he is. Narrators left much to be desired also, I only got to chapter 2. This was just not for me.

Flashbacks

Flashbacks are way way overdone. It's like scraping fingernails on a chalk board. Won't do this again.
