Publisher's summary

An unpauseable new romance from New York Times best-selling, Audie Award-winning author Kylie Scott - available in audio first!

When Anna wakes up from a coma after a car crash, she discovers life has gone on without her. Her husband has been unfaithful - with her best friend - and she’s been long since replaced at work. While her old life is a distant memory, her new life feels like an empty shell. Then she meets the stranger who saved her life during the crash, and he changes everything.

Leif Larsen - tattooist, joker, and player - has his own scars thanks to the crash that put Anna in a coma. Helping her move on from her failed marriage, and create a new life, sounds like a perfect distraction. So when he needs a new roommate, he invites Anna to begin her new life with him.

Although their lives may have been put on pause, together they just might find a way to heal.

Funny and perfect narration

Anna and Leif meet from tragedy and their friendship turns to love. The friendship bantering is hilarious. When Anna wakes up from the accident her husband has cheated on her and she changes her life leading her to a life and
Friendship with Lief. The narration was so perfect.

X-rated

While I liked the story and was completely immersed for 2/3 of it, I found the sexual relationship descriptions to be too graphic, and the language vulgar. There was nothing romantic about them. I often listen to books while I cook for my family, thank goodness I had my ear buds in for this one.

I think the performance made this so pleasant. The story was good too, it was sweet. Just listen.

Not my kind of story

I was looking for something light and easy, you know, dark days and all that. I haven’t read many romance books in my life, they just aren’t my cup of tea. I usually find they are short on character development and beyond unrealistic. This book hits those points. Although I must admit that it veers slightly from the ones I’ve read because the guy isn’t a complete asshat douche-canoe. However, I did finish this book because of the narrator, Andi Arendt. Damn she’s good. Whatever they are paying her, it’s not enough.

this will be your new favorite audiobook.

I was hooked from the first chapter.
This book is about loss, and redemption, and trust. and love. but it isn't like any other romance novel I've ever read.

I believe that Leif Larson is destined to become an iconic figure, like Edward Cullen and Jamie Fraser. strong, capable, but gentle and protective.

one thing wrong with this book: it wasn't long enough. not nearly long enough. I actually emailed the author and begged her to write the book from Leif's POV. It would give readers a whole different experience. she told me that she had no plans to do that. Maybe if she heard it from some others, it would convince her.

bottom line: I fell in love with almost every characrer in this book. I preordered the written copy and am now going to read all of Kylie Scott's s books. she is amazing.

one question: who is the guy on the cover? in the book, Leif is described as a guy with dark blond hair and amber eyes.

Pleasure

I really didn’t know what to expect when I chose this title, but what I found was an easy pleasure. It is so unlike what I normally read or listen to, I found it refreshing and rewarding. I loved the blunt language used with no skating with ridiculous descriptive words. The performance was done well and I truly appreciated the storyline. I have truly found another genre to incorporate into the biographies and other books in my repertoire. Thank you for this breeze of fresh air.
