Emotional & Heartbreaking🥺

Wow,,,just wow! I have read Powerless & adored Adena, so I was very excited to see her POV. I absolutely knew how her story ends, but I think that may be why it wrecked me even more? I cried harder during this than Powerless when it happens😭

I am so glad to have her story & I LOVE her & Mak. I’m fingers crossed for some more answers & answered prayers that there is a twist where there is more for them in Reckless!!

BAWLING!!!!!!!

Seriously. Bawling….. you know the story but the break down of it all is devastating.

Powerful is a novella that takes place at the same time as the trials during Powerless. It tells Adena’s story of how she survived when Paedyn was taken for the trials, the story of how she met Mak, and her side of coming to the palace to sew gowns for Paedyn.

Adena is a ray of sunshine!

You get a little glimpse of Kai and Kitt in Powerful- leaving you wanting more… but it was nice to have Adena’s story told.

I listened to the audio and the dual readers were great!

On a side note, I didn’t realize Lauren Roberts wrote Powerless when she was 18 years old. It’s an impressive story for her debut! I can't wait to read Reckless in July!

I haven’t stopped crying

I literally knew what was gonna happened. It has been 20 mins and I am still crying at work. My poor A & Mak 🤍

AMAZING

This book had me sobbing. Even worst when Makoto's voice actor also started to tear up.

Review of Powerful by Lauren Robert’s

I did a hybrid read with the audio. The audio cast did a good job.

Event though I knew what was coming this is like THE BEST NOVELA I HAVE EVER READ! . Lauren does slow burns really well. This book had me tearing up. I do have some thoughts on the ending but it was a really good book regardless. Love Lauren’s writing style. This book had so many good quotes! We got to know Adena more and come to a better understanding with her story. I did feel more for her in this book than I did in powerless since we only got a glimpse of her in that book. We got a glimpse at Kitt and Kai in this book too and made us have more of an understanding of how they felt for Pae. The fact that she met Mak surprised me because I never knew she was seeing someone during powerless.

Very predictable but cute

The female narrator doesn’t switch her tone of voice when speaking as a man so I got lost a few times in the dialogue. The male narrator is very robotic sounding. The story is creative and heartwarming but very predictable. It was not long enough for much character development. It’s fun to get Adeenas cheery viewpoints.

Loved it but

There are so many sentences that were changed or left out completely. While passages read aloud that aren’t in the book itself. The story was incredible but I couldn’t get over the missing or changed sentences.

Great Story. Love getting A’s side.

This is a great story, especially hearing it from his side. Heartbreaking but so intriguing. Just wish that the female narrator would’ve been better.
