Carrie

You think you know me, but you’re wrong. You look at me and see Carrie, the girl with the wild hair and the wild clothes. Reliable Carrie, friendly and quirky, perhaps even a little strange. What do you really know about me, though? The details of my past are up for debate.

I’ve been careful to hide my sins, and even more careful to follow the rules. I do as I’m told. I keep to myself. I don’t mess around with boys, and I’m always ready to run. At least that’s what I tell myself, anyway. Since I met him, I’ve broken every single rule in the book. He’s impossible. Arrogant. Terrifying. If I’m not careful, Wolf Hall’s golden boy will do more than make me break the rules. He’ll wind up breaking me.

Dash

First, they hate me, then they hate themselves for wanting me. That’s how it always goes. I’m the smart one, the charming one, the guy with the accent that makes girls go weak at the knees. As a resident of Riot House, I’m destined to rule Wolf Hall. Doesn’t matter where you come from, how much money you have, or what your future holds. Cross the path of a Riot House Boy and you’re guaranteed to pay the price.

The girl isn’t special. She’s just another cog, turning in the wheel. So why, then, am I protecting her? And why am I keeping her a secret? Call me a monster. Call me a fiend. Call me reprehensible. Call me Lord Dashiell Lovett IV.

Love This Man

5/5 ⭐
3/5 🌶️
5/5 🎧

Ugh. My heart. Dash is freaking E V E R Y T H I N G. This redemption story was just so good, I loved it from beginning to end. Watching Dash and Carrie fall in love, watching him break her heart, seeing another side of Wren and Elodie falling in love and finally these two getting their happily ever after. Riot Rules is mostly a "prequel" of sorts to Riot House with more than half of it coming prior to the Riot House timeline and then the last bit coming after when Dash makes things right.

I listened to the audio book and it was fantastic. Jillian did an amazing job as Carrie and CJ's English accent was to unalive for.

I had faith that Callie wasn't going to make me hate Dash forever, but I was still a tad concerned... Thankfully his explanation for breaking her heart was pretty decent and I was able to forgive him pretty easily. Even if the reason wasn't perfect, watching him with Carrie for the first half of this book was just so dang cute. I love that each of these boys has an artistic side, Dash's being playing the piano. He was just all around perfect if you ask me.

I flipping adore Carrie. I liked her in Riot House but didn't love some of the things she did... But after getting her story it all made so much more sense. I absolutely love how smart she is and how much her past shaped her present. Her past was darker than I expected... It almost rivaled Elodie's, but she's always so sunshiney I didn't see it coming. And the spice, oooh the spice. This girl comes out of her shell when Dash gets her nekkid and it's the freaking best.

Pax is up next and to say I'm nervous is a touch of an understatement... This man is ruthless and hard and his blurb says no redemption. Wish me luck, I'm diving right in.

So good!

I’ll admit, while I wasn’t super excited for Carrie and Dash’s story, I was invested after the first book. In the beginning I was sceptical that I would enjoy it because I just couldn’t empathize with Carrie. But that all changed, when and where I don’t know, but change it did. Carrie began to really resonate with me. Her heartbreak and her reaction to it was oh so familiar. And LDL4.. he stole my heart. I laughed out loud a few times, I felt my heart break more than once, and I swooned emphatically during the course of their story. Bravo Callie Hart, you won me over, and I’m diving straight into book three!

Riot Rules

Riot Rules is the second book in the Crooked Sinner's Series. This book is told from dual points of view from Dash and Carrie. We met both Dash and Carrie in Riot House which is the first book in the series. In the first book we learn that Dash and Carrie were together but something happened and they are no longer together, but from what we assume they both still have feelings for each other.

Reading Riot Rules we learn so much. Carrie has a rough past that she doesn't let anyone know. Dash has a hard father who expects so much from him, even though it isn't what Dash wants. I liked going back and seeing Dash and Carrie get to know each other. The fallout, and what happens next. Will Carrie's secrets come out? Will they learn to trust each other again? Can Dash get Carrie's forgiveness?

This book was amazing. So many twists and turns. I was hooked and didn't want to put it down! I can not wait for Pax's story. I bet it's going to be amazing! I would definitely recommend this series!

Freaking Hilarious!!!

Omg. So glad I listened to this instead of “reading” it. Dash’s was hilarious. His blasé attitude towards everything had me dying laughing. And Pax. I read the 1st book a year ago so glad I did a u turn back to this series.

Carrie & Dash

I actually really liked how the story goes back before Elody and life at the school. The author also fills in spots that are left out in book one. This would be an interesting tandem read.

Riot Rules

A lot of Fluff! way too much inner dialogue. that in itself takes talent. I think it was longer than it needed to be. however the audio was great. spice was on point did not disappoint there. I am probably just gonna read book 3 though rather that waste my credit. plot was ok.
