Positive and Practical Resource!

This was such a delightful book to listen to. The production value was superb. I found the voice and pronunciation easy to follow. The way the vocabulary was structured was easy to follow.I could repeat the spellings to get a feel for the alphabet and pronunciation of each work. The author also did an excellent job of being upbeat and encouraging along the way, which was refreshing and motivating. I'm excited to apply what I've learned!

Then moves on to useful words and phrases. It helps with the conversational side of what can be a very difficult language to learn. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to expand their language skills.

Vanda Vanickova (sorry for the incorrect alphabetical nuances) has created a smorgasbord of educational language arts in the category of Czech, giving the reader an insider’s look into this beautiful language starting with the alphabet, and going all the way to the likes of words (beginner and complex), pronunciation exercises, and even goes so far as to provide the listener with tips to improve their accent. A powerful all round language tool that will benefit the beginner to even the advanced (in my opinion). A difficult language to undertake, but this audio release is a powerful tool to have on your side.

If you’re unfamiliar with Czech and perhaps will be traveling to central Europe this audiobook will help you communicate with the locals. This book will guide you on learning basic vocabulary and pronunciation while listening to an engaging narrator.

Great before my vacation!

The Czech Republic is a beautiful place, and I've always wanted to go. I just found this book about 2 weeks before my trip, and listened to it on my commute (20 minutes) to and from work. In those two weeks, pus the plane ride, I was able to make my needs known, and speak to agents at my hotel, taxi drivers, and servers in restaurants.

The narrator is a native speaker, and so the accent was authentic. That made it much easier for me to achieve good pronunciation, or so I was told by several people in Czechoslovakia. They couldn't believe I was American!

It didn't make me fluent, by any means, but I did just fine on vacation. I recommend this book very highly!

Wow! It does work!

I was skeptical that I could recognize or even begin to speak Czech, but I was incredibly surprised.

Vanda has a warm and inviting approach that makes you feel, with her guidance, that you are able to take on this task!

Being able to recognize and mimic different letters, numbers, and phrases through practice exercises listed in the book gives practical use and understanding of the Czech language!

Vanda makes it as easy as "jedna, dva, and tři"!
