About this listen

Gabe Kingman has never been great with his emotions. His disastrous personal life is evidence enough of that. Returning to be a doctor in his small Colorado hometown was supposed to bring him closer to his family, not push them even further away. He’s been slowly working to repair the mistakes he’s made, but his efforts aren’t made any easier by the new existence of vampires in his world. Especially one pesky, annoyingly beautiful vampire in particular.

Soren Iversen never meant to stay in Hyde Park this long. He hasn’t kept himself alive for centuries by letting himself be a sitting duck. But instead of moving on months ago, he’s been kicking his heels in the most boring town in the world, hoping for one stubborn, annoyingly compelling human to pay him even a bit of attention.

When circumstances force the two of them together, Soren’s obsession and Gabe’s unwilling attraction are brought to a head. But Soren has been running for a reason, and the skeletons in his closet threaten to tear the couple apart before they can even begin.

Soren is a heated fated-mates MM paranormal romance with an HEA and no cliff-hanger. It contains a stubborn, emotionally repressed ICU doctor and a bratty, slightly unhinged vampire not afraid to stalk a man to get what he wants. It also contains steamy scenes between two men and the moderate violence (and mentions of blood) that one might expect from a vampire romance. This book can be listened to as a stand-alone, but the series is best enjoyed in order.

Gabe and Soren

After reading Roman and discovering that Danny's brother was going to turn out to be Soren's fated mate, I knew I had to read it, or rather listen to it. Michael Ferraiuolo did a bang up job of bringing these two to life. I loved his voice for a haughty Soren and his voice for Gabe was great too.

I loved how vulnerable Gabe could be with Soren. Soren gave him a safe place to voice his fears and just be himself. It was lovely seeing Gabe eventually return the favor when Soren needed him too. Soren was very patient with Gabe. He knew Gabe struggled with the whole supernatural reveal and even though at first he knew Gabe didn't want him around, Soren was still watching from the shadows to make sure his mate was protected. It was sweet in a vampire way I think.

The steam was great and I enjoyed the plotline. I don't think Soren would have ever been truly settled and happy with Gabe knowing there was a possible threat out there to their happiness and safety. The arrival of Jay was wonderful too. That little sweetie deserves the best mate ever and thankfully he gets him in book 4.

Soren + Gabe

Passionate story with two endearing main characters. The interactions between Soren and Gabe are full of humor, love, true caring for each other and hot sexy times.

Very good

Does everything better than the first book. The pet names are more realistic/less cringe. The characters aren't saying "my mate" every other sentence. The pacing and characters felt more engaging, too. Really well done, fun read.

Loved Soren

I typically am not the biggest fan of Audiobooks, just a personal preference, but this one was great.

I loved the book itself, I read the physical copy, but the narrator for this and the story kept me enthralled.

I love Gabe and Soren!

I already read “Soren” and I loved the characters and their story. So, this was my first audiobook for the series but the narrator really embodied the characters, especially Gabe. I was more sceptic with Soren’s interpretation at the beginning, I thought it lacked Soren’s confidence, but after a few chapters, I began to appreciate the subtilty and the smoothness of his tone. Michael Ferraiuolo did an overall amazing job for this book. It definitely makes me want to listen to “Roman”.

Lovely

So, I’m listening totally out of order but oh my gosh I love Michael Ferraiuolo’s voice. He is one of the most soothing narrators I’ve heard so far. I love listening to the audio when it’s available as it just provides that extra oomph to show you what they would sound like, and it brings the story to life even more.

I CANNOT wait for Lucien as it’s my absolute favorite by far, and I’m so excited to see what Michael does for Jaime 🥰

Refreshing

I bought the first of the series on a whim and because I adore Michael Ferraiuolo's narration work and I actually really liked it, so I bought Soren and Lucien.

I cannot even begin to voice how much I loved this book. The open and frank discussions about the complex layers of trauma and how it affects someone's personality/decision making, the tenderness and affection, the way that it implied the depths of Soren's past history of being abused without throwing the gritty details into the reader's face, the way it handles the complex feelings with family and how they're rarely if ever black and white, the growth and development without heavily altering the core personalities of the characters.

This book was incredibly refreshing after trudging through mediocre mlm romances that get sung endless unwarranted praises. I cannot recommend this book enough and I'm practically chomping at the bit to start Lucien.

A wonderful addition to the series!

After reading Roman I couldn’t wait to delve more into Soren, the character that proves you shouldn’t underestimate the smaller ones.  Not only did we get more of Soren’s snark, but we also got a lot more of Soren’s backstory.  What’s even better is the pairing up of Soren and Gabe, Danny’s brother.  While on the surface it might seem like an unexpected pairing it actually works! Forced to share the same house, sparks definitely didn’t start off flying but as the two get to know each other a connection is formed.  Once again, Grae Bryan creates depth, humor and action for the characters to absolutely flourish!
