Poor narrator
I love the story, but I had trouble making it through the book. The narrator would often speak in a complete monotone with random pauses between words.

great story...terrible narrator.
Loved reading these and thought I would listen to them with my kids to get them hooked. Narrator is horrible, if the story was not written well we would have stopped. going to just have my kids read the books.

Very good book very poor performance
Jim Bond is the most frustrating voice actor I have ever heard. His inflections are grating and different voices sound like something off a bad cartoon.
The book itself is great. I enjoyed the story very much. There was a lot of character growth and great moral and personal drama.

This narrator....
Would you try another book from Terry Goodkind and/or Jim Bond?
Terry Goodkind is clearly a good author. I was so swept away by the first book that I couldn't wait to listen to the second. But my god... this is the absolute worst narrator I've ever heard. Absolutely awful. I felt like I was listening to a boring textbook. This was the worst possible choice.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jim Bond?

Good story, hate the reader.
It's like the reader is using the spooky ghost voice you use for children whenever there is a threatening character. He's not very believable.
