Story
After the stunning historical novels The Clearing and The Missing, Tim Gautreaux now ranges freely through contemporary life with 12 new stories and eight from previous collections. Most are set in his beloved Louisiana, many hard by or on the Mississippi River, others in North Carolina, and even in midwinter Minnesota. But generally it's heat, humidity, and bugs that beset his people as they wrestle with affairs of the heart, matters of faith, and the pros and cons of tight-knit communities.

The green fingerprints everywhere tell you when he last dyed his hair. We would give it 10 stars if we could!!!
This is easily one of our all-time favorite audio books! The story is delightful. Dale Cramer's sense of humor is the best. Somehow he manages to show the differences in a woman's opinion vs. a man's ... without making it look like husband bashing! Ed Sala's narration couldn't have been better. He is perfect for this story. We wish there was a sequel! We highly recommend this book and will definitely listen to it again.

Thoroughly enjoyable
This story reaches out to you on so many levels. It has so many stories within the story. It makes me laugh so much at the little daily things of life. And really provokes thought on a much deeper level on our humanity. So well written and perfect narration. One of my favorite stories!

Humor, love, faith, encouragement!
A man wrote, a man narrated. It’s a charmingly male driven story about the hilarious adaptations and mishaps encountered by a stay at home dad. Full of lessons of faith hope and love. I chuckled and laughed a lot.
