Book three in the Deadly Intent series - newly expanded version!

Trace Davidson is determined to protect Christie from her ex-husband who has ordered a hit on her from his jail cell. Trace will do anything it takes, including putting his own life on the line, to make sure Christie survives.

Salvatore Reyes of the Jimenez Cartel intends to make sure his ex-wife never makes it to the witness stand to testify against him. Christie is the only one with enough damning evidence to send him to prison for life. If he's convicted, he's as good as dead - the drug cartel will kill Salvatore if he doesn't kill Christie first. Salvatore isn't going to let her live another day.

Trace and Christie end up on the run. They must keep moving to avoid Salvatore and the cartel's men. In the midst of danger, Trace and Christie find love - but first they have to make it out alive.

action packed and fast paced romantic suspense!

Christie Ann Simpson, formerly Reyes, has survived a lot over the past year. She discovered that her husband of 20yrs was a ranking member of a notorious Mexican Cartel, and that he had ordered the murders of her closest friends. From elementary school, the 7 friends coined themselves the circle of seven aka COS...they were as thick as thieves until almost the end of high school, when one member ran away. Christie learned the hard way that her husband was not who/what he seemed, almost at the cost of her own life. Now, a year later, living in witness protection in Indiana, Christie decides to head home to Bisbee, AZ for the impending birth of her best friend's baby, unbeknownst to her FBI handler. When DHS agent, Trace, receives a tip that the Christie's husband has ordered a hit on her upon her return to AZ, he rushes off to the Tucson airport to meet Christie. Trace had been present when her husband had attempted to kill Christie and her best friend, Belle and he felt a connection. Now he's off to save this extraordinary woman, even if it means tangling with the FBI agent in charge. Can Trace and the FBI keep Christie safe and alive so she can testify at her ex-husband's trial or will the bounty on her head, and all of the cartel men after her succeed in their mission?
Lots of action...at one point it appears that the bad guys will win. Some blood and gore but not offensive. Enjoyed this one best of all in the series. Looking forward to the next book.

Wow, what a journey. I would never have known getting to court could be so dangerous. It was one incident after another so Kristi can testify against her ex-husband. Trace is kept on his toes with the help of the Marshall's in charge of keeping her arrive alive. I liked that Ms. McCray is not afraid of her heroes and heroines getting hurt.

I loved Samuel Valor's voice! Let me preface that, for the male characters. Not so much for females. He does do a fantastic job bringing the story to life.
