Publisher's summary
"We weren't wealthy, we weren't poor - we just were. We never wanted for anything, except maybe more time together...."
When Eddie was 12 years old, all he wanted for Christmas was a bike. Although his life had gotten harder - and money tighter - since his father died and the family bakery closed, Eddie dreamed that somehow his mother would find a way to have his dream bike gleaming beside their modest Christmas tree that magical morning.
What he got from her instead was a sweater. "A stupid, handmade, ugly sweater" that young Eddie left in a crumpled ball in the corner of his room.
Scarred deeply by the realization that kids don't always get what they want, and too young to understand that he already owned life's most valuable treasures, that Christmas morning was the beginning of Eddie's dark and painful journey on the road to manhood.
It will take wrestling with himself, his faith, and his family - and the guidance of a mysterious neighbor named Russell - to help Eddie find his path through the storm clouds of life and finally see the real significance of that simple gift his mother had crafted by hand with love in her heart.
Based on a deeply personal true story, The Christmas Sweater is a warm and poignant tale of family, faith, and forgiveness that offers us a glimpse of our own lives - while also making us question if we really know what's most important in them.

Story
Thirteen-time #1 national bestselling author Glenn Beck realized years ago that somewhere along the way, his four children had become more focused on Santa than the meaning of Christmas. No matter how he tried, he could not redirect their attention away from presents and elves to the manger instead. Glenn didn't want to be the Grinch who spoiled the magic of Kris Kringle, so he had to find a unique way to turn his kids back toward the true meaning of Christmas. He decided the best place to start was by first turning Santa himself back toward Christ.

Story
History is about so much more than memorizing facts. It is, as more than half of the word suggests, about the story. And, told in the right way, it is the greatest one ever written: Good and evil, triumph and tragedy, despicable acts of barbarism and courageous acts of heroism. The things you've never learned about our past will shock you. For example, the reason why gun control is so important to government elites can be found in a story about Athens. Not the city in ancient Greece, but the one in 1946 Tennessee.

But The Great Reset is not a work of fiction. It is a highly influential movement among the world’s elite to “reset” the global economy using banks, government programs, and environmental, social, and governance metrics.

Just a generation ago this place was called America. Now, after the worldwide implementation of UN-lead program called Agenda 21, it's simply known as the 'Republic'. There is no president. No congress. No Supreme Court. No freedom. There are only the Authorities. Citizens have two primary goals in the new Republic: to create clean energy and to create new human life. Those who cannot do either are of no use to society. This bleak and barren existence is all that 18-year-old Emmeline has ever known.

Story
If you think you know George Washington, think again. This is the amazing true story of a real-life superhero who wore no cape and possessed no special powers—yet changed the world forever. It's a story about a man whose life reads as if it were torn from the pages of an action novel: Bullet holes through his clothing. Horses shot out from under him. Unimaginable hardship. Disease. Heroism. Spies and double-agents. And, of course, the unmistakable hand of Divine Providence that guided it all.

It works by manipulating public perception so that ideas previously thought of as radical begin to seem acceptable over time. Move the Window and you change the debate. Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

Honest and daring, Nearly Normal reveals the many ways that Cea's unconventional childhood continues to reverberate through the years.

Keep the kleenex handy
My husband and I listened to the audio on a roadtrip to Myrtle Beach. Normally we make several stops on the way but this trip we drove straight through because we didn't want shut it off. I am giving copies of this book to my family for Christmas. We loved it.

A Very Enjoyable Story Perfectly Narrated
Who can tell your story better than you? Exactly. And for this reason, nobody could have narrated this story better than the author himself. I imagine anyone who reads this book will find a shade of themselves in it. The story is so enjoyable yet comes with such a valuable lesson. I am, now, inclined to read another one of Glenn's fiction titles. (I read too much non-fiction, so that would probably do me good.)

Just really enjoyed listening to it this December
Where does The Christmas Sweater rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?
Hard to say.... if I'd read it at a different time of the year, it'd probably be mid to high favorites range. Listening to it in December, it was near the top! Just the kind of story I wanted to hear to remind me about the real spirit of Christmas.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Christmas Sweater?
I had to stop listening for a few days after one chapter's close devastated me.
Have you listened to any of Glenn Beck???s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first Glenn Beck performance / book I've listened to.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I could have! I listen on my commute, so it helps me pass the time and stay awake. :)
Any additional comments?
I would say Beck's voice added very much to the experience. He's quite theatrical!

Great Book
If you could sum up The Christmas Sweater in three words, what would they be?
Easy listening, enjoyable book, surprise ending. Glen Beck (the reader) was very easy to listen to and the story flowed with him reading the book. The book starts out with a sad beginning which causes the boys rebellion through out the book. Even though the boy is filled with rebellion you have sympathy for him because he is causing himself so much emotional harm. You understand the boy. The book did flow and there is one extremely happy part to the book that makes you want to cry tears of joy. The book is a good read.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The book was all about Ed a 13 year old boy with adults surrounding him. Ed or Eddie was my favorite character.
What about Glenn Beck’s performance did you like?
He is an awesome reader as well as an awesome writer.

One of my favorite books
This book has a great message about the true meaning of Christmas. Sometimes we go through storms in life but we have to quit feeding the storm and realize we are all worthy of God's love.
