Out of Suffering and into What Has Already Been Allowed

How can we bring an effortless yes to this moment? How do we stop running from “the mess of life”—our predicaments, our frustrations, even our search for liberation—and start flowing with all of it?

In small venues throughout the UK and Europe, a young teacher named Jeff Foster is quietly awakening a new generation of spiritual inquirers to the experience of abiding presence and peace in our ever-shifting world. His informal gatherings, blogs, and “kitchen-table video posts” have created a rising tide of interest in his teachings.

With The Deepest Acceptance, Jeff Foster invites us to discover the ocean of who we are: An awareness that has already allowed every wave of emotion and experience to arrive.

While Jeff delightfully admits the irony of an audio program to convey something that is beyond words to teach, here he confirms his ability to guide us in unexpected new ways to a space of absolute acceptance and joy, no matter what’s happening in our lives.

Those who enjoy spoken-word teachings will find this original audio edition of Jeff Foster’s book especially engaging. Here, he guides us in the spirit of his spontaneous talks and dialogs, into the direct experience of deepest acceptance.

Candid, thoughtful, humorous—and deeply compassionate toward those searching for a way out of suffering—this refreshing new luminary inspires us to stop trying to “do” acceptance … and start falling in love with “what has already been allowed.”

Critic reviews

"Wise, spacious, and loving. Teachings that can free the heart." (Jack Kornfield, author of A Lamp in the Darkness and A Path With Heart)
"There is a transmission in this book: an alive, compassionate presence that invites awakening right here, this very moment, no matter what is going on in our lives." (Tara Brach, PhD, author of Radical Acceptance and True Refuge)
"A beautifully written guide to the fearlessness and simplicity of living fully immersed in each moment of our lives. The Deepest Acceptance rings with the power and authenticity of Jeff Foster's deeply felt, deeply lived wisdom. His affirmation of life and compassion for the full range of human experience is a much needed contribution." (Judith Blackstone, PhD, author of Belonging Here and The Intimate Life)

Great message

I enjoyed the book, good performance but was slow with gaps in between in his speaking...so listen at 1.2 speed and its good.

Thank you.

The simplicity with which he describes this process of Acceptance is revelatory. I felt like I got a deep understanding of Truth listening to Jeff Foster. It relieves that felt need of striving in spiritual attainment. Thank you for making this available.

Profound Truth. Freeing.

What did you love best about The Deepest Acceptance?

Foster really addresses the core of the free life, acceptance, in a way that is accessible to the layman and practitioner a like. Spoken with a peaceful British accent, it's an inviting audio that reminded me to be gentle with myself and lured me into self-acceptance in a refreshing way.

What did you like best about this story?

He busts the common myth of good vs. bad emotion, and really drives home that acceptance in the here and now is the ideal orientation...rather than trying to be happy all the time.

Have you listened to any of Jeff Foster’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. This is my first time to hear Jeff Foster.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

That every situation, every emotion that comes up during the day, is just a wave in the ocean that is life. Resisting a situation or an emotion, is as futile as resisting a wave in the open water. Recognize every wave is a part of who I am, and accept what I'm feeling and going through, in the here and now.

Any additional comments?

The audiobook seems repetitive to me. Seems like he's saying essentially the same thing many times over. It's a good message to hear though.

This is one of three books to end the spiritual search

Read this book. Read "The disappearance of the universe " and read "The unterhered soul"

Combine the knowledge of these three books, and end your spiritual search.

Everything else is just the carrot on the stick

Very insightful but tough to endure in places

This book is full of great, helpful pointings, some of which I hadn't heard before. It's spoken in plain, easy to follow, relatable terms. The thing that made the book a challenge to get through was the author/narrator's repetition of certain points over and over, as if to fill time? or sound intellectual maybe? In all seriousness, this book could easily have been 2/3 shorter, and provide the same information, without the repetition. To be fair though, I imagine Jeff was very young at the time this audio book was recorded. The belabored nature of the book notwithstanding, I do still recommend it as it did enhance my understanding of nonduality. I'm interested now to hear another one of his books, but narrated by someone else.

Fresh and uncomplicated

Everything about this book breaks the mold of traditional teachings about awakening.
The author is the narrator. His enthusiasm and vitality shine all the way through. Easy as pie to understand right off the bat,as there are none of the traditional terms to learn nor traditional terms used in a new way. One can pick it up and use it after just one chapter. I've studied and practiced a lot of different teachings on this subject and was often at a loss as to how to apply there understanding to my everyday life. Not so with Jeff Fosters's approach. I could start using it right away, and by the end of the book, he had covered every area and circumstance that i have ever found myself in or find myself in, today. I don't need any of the hundreds of books and recordings I have waded through for the last 33 years!
